1. Learning with CyberTeachers Platinum
CyberTeachers Platinum changes your learning experience by introducing a gamification dimension to it. You
will have a lot of fun while you learn. You can earn points, win badges and challenge yourself comparing your
achievements with the other players in the ranking.
You can start your experience with CyberTeachers Platinum by creating your profile. You will be able to
choose your avatar, your alias, and your personal preferences. Once you have done this, your gamification
features will be activated and you will become part of the community of learners. The information of your
profile will be visible to other learners except your birth date.
If you don’t want to activate the gamification option, please click on “Later”.
Now it’s time to have fun and learn! Start your first e-lesson right now!
2
Your CyberTeachers Platinum program is composed of 3 separate menus: My Program, My Resources and My
Progress. On the top right-hand corner, you will also find a functional tool bar with some help tools.
My Program
My Program is your tailor-made learning path composed of e-Lessons corresponding to your linguistic audit
results. To make the most of your course, we recommend completing the e-lessons in My Program in priority.
Once you have finished this part of your course, you may complete other e-Lessons in the e-Lesson Library of
the menu “My Resources.”
Each e-Lesson contains learning activities based on a theme or skill, related vocabulary words and a grammar
rule put in context. Each e-Lesson is structured around 3 learning phases: Learn, Practice, Apply.
3
Each lesson will take around 30 minutes to complete. Should you need to quit a session before completing the
e-lesson, you may stop the e-Lesson and pick it up where you left off at a later stage.
If you are Beginner, you must complete the e-Lessons in the order they are presented in My Program. For non-
beginners, you may complete the e-Lessons in any order.
If you learn English, you may also adapt your program to your changing needs, by substituting some of your e-
Lessons with other e-Lessons on other topics by clicking on the substitution icon. Please see below:
The following window will open and you can search an e-Lesson by topic in our e-Lesson library.
Select an e-Lesson and confirm. Now you will find this new e-Lesson in My Program and you can continue
working on My Program. For students learning Spanish, French or German this option is not available.
4
My Resources
In this menu, you will find additional activities to improve your general knowledge of the language and to
focus on specific linguistic skills based on your needs and interests. If you are a beginner, you will find only
activities adapted for beginners.
e-Lesson Library: If you have finished the e-Lessons in My Program you can
continue working on additional lessons. (This feature is not available for
the beginner level.)
Work on the news: In this section, you can work on news articles related
to your professional field. (This feature is not available for the beginner
level.)
Flash Lessons: The Flash Lessons are short grammar and vocabulary activities. They give you a daily contact
with the target language and are also sent to your email box Monday through Friday.
What's up today? In this section, you can learn a new idiomatic expression or an interesting historical fact.
Activities and information change daily.
Assistants: They provide pedagogical guidance in professional context. The reading assistant allows you to
work on vocabulary from your own documents. The writing assistants (only available for English) help you to
work on any professional writing tasks you need to complete. (This feature is not available for the beginner
level.)
5
My Progress
This menu allows you to monitor your progress in real time and shows you what skills and objectives might
need more work.
Progress Summary: shows you in real time what you have achieved so far.
Connection Time: shows your total connection time since the start of your license.
Success Rate: allows you to see the overall success rate of your e-Lessons in My Program.
Completion Rate: corresponds to the overall completion rate of all activities in My Program to know where you
stand in your learning path at all times, and the work left to be done.
Mini-Tests: After every 5 e-Lessons, CyberTeachers will send you a Mini-Test through the Notification Center
(“envelope” icon). The Mini-Test validates key points that you have seen in the previous e-lessons. This is an
excellent opportunity to check your understanding and where you might need additional practice.
Tip: We recommend you focus on skills where you obtained a poor success rate (<85%).
6
Badges
You will earn points for each e-lesson completed and for each hour spent on CyberTeachers. By improving
your success rate and connection time you can reach the 5 highest summits and win the corresponding
badges: “Mont-Blanc”, “Kilimanjaro”, “Aconcagua”, “Annapurna” and “Everest”.
Go to the “Badge” subsection in “My Progress” to check the number of points and badges you have won and
learn how to earn more points.
Badge and ScoreBoard are only available if you created your profile.
ScoreBoard
You can access the “ScoreBoard” where you can see your ranking and compare your score to other users in
the country or in your company. Check your position on the ranking and the Top 10 users by clicking on the
menu “ScoreBoard” in “My progress”.
If you don’t want to participate, you can deactivate the gamification feature any time in “My Account”.
