Conclusion

Religion is a system of believes which effect the attitude and behavior of the individual
not only in society but also in workplace that is why the objective of this case study is to
propose a specific and realistic solution to the different problems regarding the influences of
religion and individual behavioral norms in an organization. In this paper, the researchers have
successfully discussed and proposed a solution about the three (3) identified problems: The
Religious Discrimination in an Organization, Religion makes people Narrow-minded, Religion
makes people judgmental. In order to aid the problems identified by the researchers the
following alternatives are suggested: first, offer training to all employees and discuss what is
acceptable in terms of discussing faith in an organization and encourage employees to accept
differences. Second, makes a religious friendly environment, wherein tolerance and acceptance
of religious views are vital, as well as being able to accommodate those who may need extra
time off or may have special needs that are dictated by their religious preference. Lastly;
respect people who exercise their religious belief and opinions, moreover organization must
follow the rights to  freedom of religion and belief of their employees because it is enshrined
and protected under Article 3 Section 5 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution, which provides
that: “No law shall be made respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free
exercise thereof.
Religion is always part of our lives; we cannot keep the religion and employees separate
in workplace because it is similar to keeping the mind away from the body. We believe that
man is triune creature, thus organizations must encourage their people to accept and
understand their colleague’s religion. Acceptance and understanding are the key to this matter
therefore, it is important in organization to practice tolerant and understanding. In addition,
despite the fact that religion plays an important role in people’s lives, it is still considered as a
topic to be avoided in organizational management. Thus, this case study attempts to underline
that religion, which is part of the personal characteristics of individuals, should take an
important place in human behaviour in organizations. This study added a unique contribution in
domain of religion, and it is very helpful to the future researcher in finding empirical study to
attest the importance of religion in organization.
