Yasmin has said you need to interview someone for a project about youth
subcultures. I'm willing to talk to you if you think I can help. I
teach a course on Understanding Supporting Client Needs, which has a
unit on deviance, within which I do a lesson on youth subculture,
focussing on punk. If you let me know what you need, we can arrange to
meet up. Would you be able to come to the college at Quarles, or perhaps
we could meet at your school?

Just to let you know a bit about me I am from Chadwell Heath Academy studying media
communications. I am making a documentary for people aged 16 – 24. The documentary will be
about how belong to youth subcultures change the way people act and and people responses to
them.
I think that you would be able to help me because I need to give my targeted audience some
information about the topic from an academic perspective idealy in your class room or office. i
will need half an hour of your time. the questions will bw manly be based around cohens idea
and why they are relevent. I am able to send you the questions before hand.

Sounds interesting! If you need any young people to interview, I know
several punks! Not very familiar with Cohen, usually I teach about Dick
Hebdige, but more than happy to do some research & find out more myself.
I share a staff room with about 15 other staff members, so it would be
really manic here, but we can book a quiet room in the library area that
would be suitable. We have an Ofsted inspection next week, so if
possible, could we meet the week following that (commencing 14/02)? I am
free Monday or Thursday mornings and most of Tuesday.

and I'm not really familiar with Dick Hedbige, but maybe you could tell me a bit about him and
when he came around.
