It is the process of gathering and measuring information on variables of interest, in an established systematic fashion that
enables one to answer stated research questions, the data collection combined of research is common to all fields of study
including physical and social sciences, humanities, business, etc. While methods vary by discipline, the emphasis on ensuring
accurate and honest collection remains the same.

Completeness- all the details required by the user.
Accuracy- information that precise and free from error.
Availability- easy to obtain or access information.
Level of detail/conciseness- information should be short enough to allow for its examination and use.

Transition processing system- used by workers for based reports.
Management information system-used by mangers for operational efficiency.
Decision support system-used by senior managers for decision making.
E.I.S(executive information system)-used by executives for strategic decisions.

is the change of information in any manner detectable by an observer. As such, it is a process that describes everything that
happens (changes) in the universe, from the falling of a rock (a change in position) to the printing of a text file from a digital
computer system
