Objective:

 Drawing Understanding
 Make a Route of Machine operation
 Make a route how to work done by 6 employees

Drawing of Hammer
Machine Which we Used
 Lathe Machine
 Milling Machine
 Power Hacksaw (for cutting Raw material)

Tool which we used

 Chuck Key
 Single point Cutting tool
 V-shaped Cutting tool
 Center drill
 Live Center
 V-Block
 Drill
 Drill drift
 Tap
 Coolant
 Allen Key (for compound slide adjustment)

Route to Making a part by 6 employees

Date 8-12-2020

Time: 10:00 Am

 Employees # 1
i) Cut Raw Material for Handle by power Hacksaw. (10:00 Am to 10:10Am) Estimate Time.
ii) Cut Raw Material for Hammer Head. (10:15 Am to 10:25 Am) Estimate Time.
iii) Do inspection 3&5.
 Employees # 2 & 4
i) Collect Tools which Required for making Hammer Head.
ii) Check machine workability.
iii) Do All Machine operation in a sequence which is discuses in bellow. (10:20 to 2:00 Pm).
 Employees # 3 & 5
i) Convert all Drawing Dimension into real length for hammer handle.
ii) Collect Tools which Required for making Hammer Handle. (10:00 to 10:20 Am).
iii) Do All Machine operation in a sequence which is discuses in bellow. (10:20 to 2:00 Pm).
 Employees # 6
i) Do Inspection employee 2&4.
Route of Machining Operation for face Hammer Handle
 Do facing both side to job come in true length which is mention in drawing by single point
cutting tool (length = 7.875).
 Do Turning to reduce dia to whole shaft by single point cutting tool (Dia = 0.4375).
 Do center Drill on both end by center drill tool by grabbing the workpiece in the machine.
 Set the machine for taper cutting by adjusting the compound slide at the angle of 3.5 degree
which we get by taper formula.
 After taper turning, we do Step turning according to drawing dimension.
 Make chamfer at threading side with dimension of 1/16 x 45degree.
 Set the machine for threading. (every machine has threading chart on the machine)
 Do threading 5/8-11 UNC major dia in inch =0.625 major dia in mm = 15.8 tapping TPI=11 pitch
2.3mm.
 Then we grab the work piece in live center and chuck and set the knurling tool in tool post.
 Apply force on work piece by cross slide and do feed in longitude direction left & right.

Route of Machining Operation for face Hammer Head

 Take a raw material rod of and cut it which is slightly above the giver dimension the drawing.
 Do facing length = 2.440 both side to job come in true length which is mention in drawing by
single point cutting tool.
 Do turning to become dia = 1.5.
 Take the drill dia for chat of tap sizes 5/16-18 UNC. Which is 6.55mm.
 Do drilling & tapping on both sides.
 Use marking tool (Scraber for mark the center of work piece in length side).
 Use V-Block for support the workpiece.
 Do drilling in center with dia of drill is 13.53mm by using milling machine.
 After Drill Do tapping 5/8 – 11 UNC.
 Grab the work piece in lathe make a facing from center to outward which measurement is 1.125
dia and depth is 0.25.
 Again, set the compound slide for tapering which angle is 14.
 Repeat last two step to other side of workpiece.
