The movie entitled “The Ron Clark’s Story” is a symbol of the effectiveness of a teacher.
It deals with the realizations about the teaching profession and on how it affects mankind for a
good and better change.

Mr. Clark, the main character in the movie, wants to be an inspiration and motivation to
students in terms of appreciating and valuing education, especially in New York. Before he left
North Carolina, he wanted to provide quality education for the students in the state wherein he
knows that he is much needed there as a teacher. Mr. Clark used different methods just to motivate
his students. His creativity was shown in the movie as a teacher just like what some elementary
teachers do. In promoting discipline to his students, he gave lots of rules that must be followed to
practice their good behaviour and etiquettes. At first, it does not work because of the cruelty and
being hardheaded of his students. But I can say that in those different methods he used, the best
thing is that he tried to be part of his students’ lives. That’s one of the greatest things a teacher can
do, try to make his students comfortable with him and to make them feel that they are part of your
family.

If ever that my students will show me that they really don’t like me, I’m pretty sure that it
will make me feel so disappointed and useless. But on the other side, as a teacher, I will never
show to them that I don’t want them either. But instead, I will find out what are the reasons that
cause them to unlike me. And by that, I am going to teach them how to love my teaching and
learning, in general. Based on the movie, we can see that the transformation in the students takes
a lot of time for us to recognize. It’s not an easy thing as we thought. There are tons of challenges
Mr. Clark experienced just to achieved that good transformation to his students. The burning
passion and determination of the main character are truly undeniable wherein it is very obvious
that’s why there’s no doubt that his students learn to love and appreciate him. One more thing is
that he always motivates and inspires his students that they can make anything they wanted if they
try to take a risk and pursue dreams.

The movie serves to be an eye-opener to me in the real world of the teaching profession. It
made me quite emotional because of the realizations it gave me in understanding the life of a
teacher with students who look at themselves as losers. Mr. Clark is indeed a good and effective
teacher. He is truly a hero for saving the future of his students. I learned that for us to be like him,
we should dedicate our whole self for the sake of our students. We should believe in them no
matter how hard life may be for they deeply depend on their future in our own hands. Being a good
teacher is not just about touching the minds of our students, but touching their hearts. By that, we
will be sure that we are been part of the totality of their personality and in their life. Because of
this movie, I became more motivated to pursue educating young minds and promoting the value
of education. I will definitely take the challenge on following Mr. Clark’s footsteps. And I will
make this happen by showing and letting the superhero inside of me came out to spread change
and to save every student’s future.
