 What is your revenue target? Initially 5% from the usual cost in a month then we can make to increase it to
10% in a consecutive month.
 What is your census target? To maintain 60% and above census at present.
 Do you have planned mark-up? Yes, to increase the room rates by 5-10%.

B. Customer
 Are you considering tapping into a new market to increase revenues? Yes, by ensuring them that the hospital/
unit environment was safe due to proper triage done.
 Are you considering enhancement an existing patient service to increase revenues? Yes, by optimizing revenue
from physicians referrals and orders. Coordinate with doctors to continue to market other doctor, to refer
patients for admission.

C. Internal Business
 What procedures should be reviewed so that more patients can be accommodated? Ensuring 100% key
performance indicator target by constant monitoring of patient for accomplishment of quality and safety.
Indicator: Health services and Patient care. Education of patient/watcher to participate in their health care.
 What process can be streamlined, combined, or introduce so that the payments can be more conveniently
processed? Online payment/ bank transfer should introduce to eliminate their struggle in falling in line and
avoid them from crowded area.

D. Learning and Innovations


 What new skills does your team need to learn to reach the revenue targets? Good communication skill to avoid
negative feedback and remove communication barriers.
 What additional skills does your team need to accommodate more patients? Nurses should be more flexible to
accommodate more patients.

A. Census and financial


 What IC measures in your unit will allow more patients to feel safe to transact in the hospital? By
strict implementation of standard infection practices like preventing contact transfer, improving
service cleaning and preventing device related infections. Also proper hand washing and use of PPE to
every patient.

B. Customer
 How will customers know and be assured that it is safe to come to the hospital? By observance of
current practices done by the staffs and re assuring them that we maintain safe environment for them.
Giving information/ instruction to follow on how to prevent infection and maintaining these standards
will give them security that the hospital is following all protocols/ practices for infection control.

C. Internal Business
 What changes to your current processes need to be done to comply with IC processes? A place for
proper donning and doping of PPE will be placed in the ICU. And also conduct seminars thru webinars
every now and then to all staffs on new guidelines of infection control.
D. Learning and Innovations
 What IC measures must your staff strictly do to stay safe and healthy? Allowing the staff to have rest
periods through proper staffing. Providing them protective equipment’s that is needed pertinent to
patient care.
 How will this compliance be accepted, complied with and modeled to others? Providing them
continuous education in proper infection control.

A. Census and financial


 What is your cost reduction target? Initially reduce by 5% from the usual cost in a month, and then we
can make to increase it to 10% in consecutive months.
 Which line items can be managed to decrease costs and by what %/PHP? By proper scheduling of
staff nurses to avoid overtime. All staff nurses are reminded to be efficient in the use of water and
electricity. Also ensure all equipment in good condition and continuous preventive maintenance should
be done to minimize malfunction and purchase of defective parts.

B. Customer
 Are there customer interactions in your unit that impacts cost? None
 Can you do without it, or change how it is done without compromising customer service and customer
safety? Yes, patient who are financially unstable upon admission should be screened and referred to
our medical social worker.

C. Internal Business
 What processes can be streamlined, combined or redesigned to reduce or eliminate costs in your unit?
The process can be used to eliminate costs in the unit were proper charging of supplies used by
patients. Proper and accurate charging of services done to the patients.
The pandemic has made our hospital exhausted because of increasing expenses with lesser revenue.
During the pandemic’s peak, we had difficulty identifying supplies needed or where they were being
used. A clinically integrated supply chain is one recommended to monitor supplies and cost in ICU.

D. Learning and Innovations


 What must the team understand in order to achieve the cost management targets? Every member of
the team should be cooperative; reiteration of the current condition of the hospital should be done. In
the ICU we cannot control patient coming in and out and how their status will be. Staff should be
informed on how to manage the supply efficiently by constant monitoring of items in a daily basis.

 What kind of technology, automation, or digital interface will help plans to increase revenues, or
increase ho we accommodate patient? The use of internet is one of the biggest influences on people
especially they are not going out in their houses. With the use of media, we can educate our patients
what are the procedures that we implement during hospitalization. Providing an online consultation/
tele-med is more efficient and convenience for them.
B. Customer
 What kind of technology, automation, or digital interface will allow us to be more engaged with our
customers, and allow them to reach us and be served more safely and conveniently? By keeping the
line of communication through text messaging, call or chats open.

C. Internal Business
 Which parts of our processes or entire procedures can be automated, digitized or transitioned to
online platforms for more efficient, more accurate processing? Video presentation or clips on what are
the procedures being implemented on admission in the ICU and the guidelines being implemented in
infection control for the patient and family members.

D. Learning and Innovations


 What must our process owners learn to make transitioning to automation and online transactions safer and
more efficient? An online portal is recommended for the information and guidelines being done. Provide a
number of payment methods, ask for essential information only and provide reassurances on security and
privacy.
