Dear HR Service,

I am called Rollis Jiofack, a young professional specialized in Water and Sanitation and Early Warning Systems.
This definitely attests that the reputation of Action Against Hunger goes far beyond all expectations. The
quality, seriousness and dynamism demonstrated by your team in West Africa convinced me to submit my
application for the WASH/Disaster Reduction Risk Program Manager position.

Indeed, having two Bachelor's degrees, one in Water and Sanitation, the other in Physics, I also hold a Master's
degree in Infrastructure and Hydraulic Networks especially in Water for Agriculture. In a context of climate
change affecting our planet and being sensitive to the vulnerability of most of our countries against this, some
young people and I have set up the Early Warning Systems - Young Professional Network with the objectives
of Build interdisciplinary working relationships and Sharing knowledge. We wrote an article entitled "The Role
of Young Professionals in Driving the Integration of Early Warning Systems" which was approved and
published in the last WMO Bulletin (Vol 68). At the same time, I was co-organizer and panelist at the MHEWC-
II (Multi-Hazard Early Warning Conference - II) in Geneva. I was also a consultant for 8 months for the World
Meteorological Organization (WMO) on two different projects. The first project focused on Integrated Flood
Management on the Volta Basin in West Africa. It was a question for me to do the analysis of the different
hydraulic and hydrological models implemented on the basin and to do an analysis of the need’s assessments
of the 6 countries of the basin for setting up an early warning system. The second project was the Climate
Risk Early Warning Systems (CREWS) and it was a question for me to propose technical specifications for a
multi-purpose severe precipitation index and for an agricultural severe precipitation index in Burkina Faso.

Hoping that my application will hold your attention I am at your disposal to demonstrate to you during an
interview, my motivations and my future prospects that will make me a strength for your team. Moreover, this
would be for me a real springboard allowing me to move to another step in my professional career and in the
best conditions.
