Case study 2. JACK AND JILL: Two Different Worlds

Question:  What would you tell Gill if he shares his thoughts with you?
I always believe that the root of success is not only the product of a person’s intellectual
ability or by mere intelligence. If Gill shares his thoughts with me, I’ll make him realize things
and would tell him that he shouldn’t compare himself to other people or else he will not be
happy. We can only control one life—ours. But when we constantly compare ourselves to other
people, we waste precious energy focusing on their lives rather than our own. Comparisons
often result in resentment. Resentment towards others and towards ourselves. I want Gill to
understand that success isn't really measured by money or power or social
rank. Success is measured by your discipline and inner peace
I want to show Gill that although Jack may not be a man with booming wit, he may be a
man who knows how to maximize his full knowledge for a brilliant result. It doesn’t mean that if
Jack is a dropped out, he can’t do nothing with his life. Us, being not intellectually magnificent
doesn’t mean that we are not good enough. We need to accept that we are not good in all
fields but there is probably one greatest thing that we are good at, and we should focus to that.
Our intellectual ability doesn’t justify everything about us as a person. Our uniqueness does.
We may not be good enough with something, but still have that exclusive capability which can
lead us to the raging fire of success. We just need to find that out.
