Attempt three questions in this paper

The maximum time allocated in this paper is 2 hours 30 Minutes

The paper is made up of Five (5) equally weighted questions

The number of marks is given in brackets ( ) at the end of each question or part of a
question

The maximum mark for the paper is 60

Each candidate is provided with a new formatted 3.5” diskette of high density
or a blank compact disc – rewritable or flash disk.

Each candidate must produce a hard copy for each of their work to accompany the
diskette or compact disc or flash disk.

Software help wizards must not be used.

a word processing document for type setting invention letters.

Using the information below; complete the table. (4marks)


™ Income from sales is expected to increase by 20% yearly.
™ Grants remain constant yearly and transfer earning decreases by 5% very
year.
™ Transport increases by 10% in 2011 and remains constant in 2012.
™ Wages and accommodation decrease by 10% yearly.

Using the above information compute;


(a) (i) Sales per year (2marks)

(iv) Wages and accommodation per year (2marks)

(b (i) Total income and revenue for each year.(2marks)


(ii) Calculate the surplus for each year which difference between income and
expenditure (2marks)
(iii) Rename your work sheets as financial statement creates a pie-chart
indicating income source and income in 2013 as chart sheet. (2marks)
iv Format your values to decimal places and apply thousand separators
(2marks).
Save your work as financial report and print it out. (2marks)

3. You are a member of computer club in your school; your school has been invited
to the trade show where different companies from Uganda are required to attend
the exhibition at Lugogo indoor stadium. The method of presentation is by power
point slides.

Using presentation software of your choice, design a 4-slide presentation which will
continuously run as you explain to guests who will visit your stall during the
exhibition.

Follow the guidelines below


Slide one should have the role of ICT in business (3mark)
Slide two should have the role of ICT in education (3marks)
Slide three should have the negative impact of using computers (3 marks)
Slide four should have the organizational chart of the club following the
guidelines below. (3marks)

Top in the hierarchy of your computer club is the Patron. Then the
chairman [mr odongo] followed by vice chairperson [Mr kagwa] ,the

secretary [miss kiraba] report to vice chairperson.
The class representatives report directly to chairperson, and the club
members report directly to the club secretary

NB: Total Amount is a product of “Price” and “Qty”


You are required to:
(i) Create a database “ Mukono” you will use to capture the objects
that follow (01 mark)
(ii) Create table 2 in a design view assigning appropriate data types
and using a look up wizard for the “Gender” field, Save as Customers
table. (03 marks)
(iii) Create table1 in design view and assigning appropriate data types,
Save it as Purchase Table (03 marks)
(iv) Create a relationship between the two tables. (02 marks)
(v) Create a query for Kampala and Kisoro customers houses , and
save it as “Real” with fields of; Cust ID , Names ,Phone , Location
and Qty bought. (02 marks)
(vi) Create a calculated query to return the “Total Amount” of the
products sold. Save it as “Spent” (03 marks)
(vii) Interrogate table 1 get out those transactions that took place
between 21st January and 25th January. Save it as “First”
(03 marks)
(viii) Create a report using table 1 and save it as “FReport”
(02 marks)
(ix) Put your name and index number in the header and in the footer report
created (01 mark)
5. Using any office publisher, design eight identical business cards of an individual
working in any organization tiled on A4 paper size, 8.4” width and 11.5” height
(a) The card’s layout and spacing is as follows:
(i) left and right margin should be 0.5”
(ii) Top and bottom margins 0.7”
(iii) The vertical and horizontal gap between the cards 0.6”
(b) The card should include
• Logo of the company at the right hand side of the card
• Name of the company is new golden international ltd
• Your Name eg. Mbabazi Patricia
• Job title eg. Sales Manager
• Contact Address, phone and Email
(c) Use appropriate graphics and colors on your card
(d) Save the publication as “Business card”
(e) insert picture as background for your card
(f) print your card
