Scope ‘This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the anodic oxide coatings (hereafter referred to as the "coatings") on the effective surface applied for the purpose of surface protection, decoration, etc. on to the base metals such as elongated member, casted member, etc. of aluminium and aluminium alloys. Remarks: There shall not be the measuring point coating thickness less than 80 % of specified mean coating thickness. 5.3 Alkali corrosion resistance The alkali corrosion resistance of coating shall be divided into class A and class B, be subjected to the test according to 6.3 and, comply with Table 4 respectively. Abrasion resistance The abrasion resistance of coating shall be subjected to the test according to 6.5 and, comply with Table 6. Table 6. Remarks: In the phosphoric acid - chromic acid solution immersion test, the exposure of base metal shall not exist. 6 H 8601-1992 . Tests 6.1 Appearance test The appearance test shall, as @ rule, be performed under aitfesed day light (3). The illuminance in the case of performing 4 under the artificial illumination shall be not less than 300 lx and for the light source the D 65 standard light source or colour rendering AAA lamp specified in JIS Z 9112, be used. The background should preferably be achromatic colour such as mat black, grey colours, etc. Note (3) Diffused day light means the light from a north window avoiding the direct projection of day light from 3 h after sunrise until before 3h the sunset. 6.2 Coating thickness test The coating thickness test shall be in aceordanige wit either oné of coating thickness measurement by microscope, eddy current type measuring method, split beam microscopic measurement method or coating mass measuring test specified in JIS H 8680. The mea~ suring position on the effective surface and number of measuring shall be in accordance with agreement between the parties concerned with delivery. 6.3 Alkali corrosion resistance test The alkali corrosion resistance test shall be in accordance with elther élkali spot test or alkali contact ‘test by electrical measurement specified in 3.(1) (Alkali resistance test methods) of JIS H 8681, However, the alkali spot test is not soplicable to coatings on and after class AA20 a Further, to the costing of class “AA3, this test is not applicable. 6.4 CASS corrosion resistance test The CASS corrosion resistance test shall bein accordance with the CASS test specified in 3.(2) (CASS test method) of JIS H 8681. However, to the coating of class AA3, this test is not applicable. 6.5 Abrasion resistance test The abrasion resistance test shall be in accordance with either the sand-falling abrasion resistance test or abrasive jet test, specified in 3.
