Online Activity Describe Since this would be an asynchronous class I would post the

the students meet with the teacher

the teacher be doing? (This includes
what they are doing with the conduct experiments. After the experiment some days will
technology). be a simple exit note to show they have completed the
activities. Other day’s students will have to write a short
report on what they did. Some activities will be done as a
group. Students will meet up on zoom and go over a day
that works best for all them to meet. Then over zoom
students will each conduct the experiment on their own
computer but talk to each other throughout the assignment.
This will allow students to compare their work. Students
will record their zoom collaboration and either post on
blackboard or email for the teacher to listen to.

For this simulation it can work as an individual assignment

or a group assignment. For example in this simulation
students get to build their own atom. Not all the students’
atoms will be the same. This is a good way for the students
to compare and contrast their work. I chose to make this an
example of an asynchronous class because so many
students are doing E-Learning right now. This would be a
good example of what it would look like.

This simulation can be conducted on any device such as a

laptop, iPhone, or iPad. However, to see it properly and
answer the questions that come along with performing the
simulation it would work best on a computer or iPad. An
iPhone would work but the simulation will be on a smaller
screen and may be a little hard to see.
The simulation shows the students the orbit and cloud
version of the atom. It also shows them the period table, net
charge, and mass number. It keeps track of the number of
protons, neutrons, and electrons.

The type of questions the students will have to answer can

include but around not limited to:
 How many protons are in helium?
 What are three names of atoms you created?
 How many protons, electrons, and neutrons did they
consist of?
 (Group work) Did anyone in your group make the
same atom? If so, what? If not, what was different
between your two atoms?
 Which model did you prefer to use, the orbit or the
cloud? Why?
 What are the colors of the protons, neutrons, and
electrons?
 Name an atom you made and its Mass Number
 What was your favorite atom you made and why?
These questions can help the teacher show the students
performed the simulation and get some feedback on if they
liked it and learned from it.

The students get to move the balls which are electrons,

protons, or neutrons to create an atom. This helps make the
simulation interactive and fun.
