Patch Release Notes

InfoWorks ICM Version 11.0.3

InfoWorks ICM 11.0.2 includes a database schema update. This means that, once a
network has been edited in version 11.0.2 or 11.0.3, it can no longer be viewed or
edited in version 11.0 or 11.0.1.

Patch Release Note InfoWorks ICM 11.0.3

3D view of river reaches
A crash that occasionally occurred when displaying a river reach in the 3D view has been
addressed.

Selecting schema for TSDB data source

A crash that occurred when attempting to select a schema for a TSDB data source has been fixed.

Interpolating river sections

When creating an interpolated section as part of splitting a river reach link, the interpolated section
was sometimes reversed. This has been rectified.

Graphing design rainfall from SWMM simulations

When the graph pick tool is used on a rain gage in the results from a SWMM simulation using
design rainfall, an unspecified error was occurring, and the rainfall was not being shown. The
correct rainfall profile is now graphed.

Update to SWMM components of InfoWorks simulation engine

The SWMM components of the InfoWorks simulation engine have been updated to build 5.1.014 of
EPA-SWMM. The relevant fixes from https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2020-
03/epaswmm5_updates.txt are:

1. Fixed a refactoring bug that produced incorrect rainfall when the same time series was used by
one rain gage assigned to a RDII Unit Hydrograph and also by another gage assigned to a
subcatchment.

3. Fixed a program crash when running projects with LID units but no subcatchments.

4. Fixed having LID underdrain pollutant loads incorrectly added to the mass balance totals.

5. Fixed the program from hanging when an LID unit sent its outflow back onto the pervious area
of its own subcatchment.

6. Fixed a failure to re-initialize layer volumes as each LID unit is evaluated (which could cause
incorrect results for certain combinations of LID units).

Updated SWMM engine

The SWMM engine has been updated to incorporate build 5.1.014 of EPA-SWMM. For fixes, please
refer to https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2020-03/epaswmm5_updates.txt.

Collapsible walls in 2D simulations on GPU cards

A fix has been made in the processing of collapsible walls/base linear structures with the wall
removal trigger set to elevation. When running on a GPU, the elevation on only one side of the
structure was taken into consideration to determine the state of the structure. This has been
corrected and now the elevations on both sides are used to determine the state of the structure.

Theming on mixed resolution ground models including non-integer cell sizes

An issue with theming of mixed-resolution grid ground models that include non-integer cell sizes
has been rectified.

1
System crash during installation
A system crash that sometimes occurred during installation of licence key drivers has been
addressed.

Shanghai Met Office files

The TSDB now supports an updated format from the Shanghai Met Office, which has a granularity
of one minute.

Flood mapping of river reaches

A failure of flood mapping for river reaches has been addressed.

LandXML import
Where node ids match pipe ids, LandXML import was failing to create pipes in some
circumstances. This has been corrected.

HYDX importer
The HYDX importer now supports a KunstwerkPMP with PRO_BOK.

SWMM pollutographs in standalone databases

When using a standalone database, there was a problem with the functionality that makes a
SWMM pollutograph read-only when it has been used in a run. This functionality has now been
removed, and SWMM pollutographs do not become read-only in standalone databases. This will
be corrected in a future release.

Import of PointZ shape files

The Open Data Import Centre was failing to import PointZ shape files with content length 14 and
points without an M field. These can now be imported.

Importing from a background InfoAsset Manager network

When importing network objects from a background InfoAsset Manager network, existing objects
were sometimes being deleted. This has been rectified.

Patch Release Note InfoWorks ICM 11.0.2

Extra traces on observed/predicted graphs
In some circumstances, traces were shown on observed/predicted graphs when no observed
data is present. This has been corrected.

Choice of erosion/deposition model

The ability to choose a 1D erosion/deposition model in the water quality and sediment parameters
properties has been restored.

Flow to SUDS
The Impervious flow to SUDS result for subcatchments containing SUDS controls has been
relabelled "Flow to SUDS", to reflect a change in the EPA SWMM functionality.

Simulation failures with large models

A problem causing some simulations with large numbers of nodes to fail with the log message
"FAILED - Pre-processor failed" has been rectified.

Time surcharged in SWMM simulations

The time surcharged reported in the node surcharge summary table in RPT files from SWMM
simulations was being double counted. This has been corrected.

2
Improvements to prototype clip meshing
Several enhancements and fixes have been made to the prototype clip meshing tool. These
include:

• Mesh zone height adjustments are now respected.

• Some polygons that were omitted are now included.

• Some fixes have been made to the aggregation of triangles into elements.

HYDX importer
Several significant improvements have been made to the HYDX importer, including the mapping
to user controls, the handling of non HYDX-conforming field values on import, and others.

Ability to drain from a subcatchment to a 2D point source

New functionality has been added allowing outflows from a subcatchment to be applied directly
to a 2D element.

Patch Release Note InfoWorks ICM 11.0.1

Hong Kong rainfall generator
A defect in the updated Hong Kong rainfall generator meant that the profiles were generated
using the "historic" generator. This has been rectified.

Editing build-up and washoff parameters

A regression introduced in InfoWorks ICM 10.5 meant that it was not possible to edit build-up and
washoff parameters in InfoWorks networks. This functionality has been reinstated.

Exporting to snapshot
Under some circumstances, a network updated from a previous version of InfoWorks ICM could
not be exported to a snapshot without first removing the local copy. This requirement has been
removed.

Localisation
Some parts of the user interface that should have been localised were always showing in English.
