AIMCAT 1802

AIMCAT 1802 Analysis

Section I - VERBAL ABILITY & READING COMPREHENSION

The VARC section of AIMCAT1802 would definitely have provided a little respite
to many a student in terms of the pattern and the number of questions. With
bulk of the scoring lying with the RCs, a well read student would have taken a
complete advantage of this. Having this section as a relatively easier one, the
number of attempts should go up and students are expected to jack up their
accuracy too at the same time.

About the RCs - there were three passages with six questions each and two
passages with three questions each adding upto 24 The length of the passages
ranged from about 390 to 700 words. Overall, the RCs in this section were
'somewhat' manageable.

The VA part was a little trickier to handle. The questions from the areas like
Para Jumbles (odd one out - 4 questions), Para Jumbles (Header-Footer-4
questions), Fill in the blanks - 2 questions.

In terms of difficulty, 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27 were the
relatively easier ones.

Section II - DATA INTERPRETATION & LOGICAL ABILITY

DILR section of AIMCAT1802, in terms of difficulty level was at par with the
CAT examination from past years. DI - having most of the questions ranging
from easy to medium toughness level, was relatively easier as compared to the
LR part where the questions were more on the higher side of difficulty level.

The caselets were based on reasoning based DI, bar charts, arrangement, etc.
With only 7 questions out of 32 falling under the difficult category, this section
would have definitely provided students some air to breathe.

In terms of difficulty, 13, 14, 15, 16, 25, 26, 27 were the questions that were
relatively tougher.

Section III - QUANTITATIVE ABILITY

If we go by the difficulty level, then the QA section can arguably be
categorized as the easiest of the three. Withas many as 25+ questions in the
easy/medium category, a serious candidate would have done pretty well in this
section. The questions were a good mix of conceptual, calculative and sitters
from various topics like Algebra, Geometry, Numbers, etc.

In terms of difficulty, only the question number 3, 6, 13, 22, 24, 31 were the
only difficult ones.
