Lesson 1 Developmental Supervision

Assignment:

Part I
Think of at least two teachers under you and describe their levels of
abstraction and commitment. How do they differ in these two crucial
elements? Decide on what supervisory orientation you would adopt
for each of these teachers that you have identified. Explain why you
think the supervisory orientation you selected is the best for each
teacher concerned.

Part II
As a follow-up to the first activity, choose one case from the two teachers
that you have identified, plan out what action you will take now to help
him/her improve instruction, and implement the plan. Describe the
process you followed in formulating the plan of action and the reasoning
underlying the proposed action.

Part III
Identify the Level of Abstraction and Level of Commitment of your teachers and Identify what
supervisory orientation that you will adopt for them.
