Answer the following questions as precisely yet as thoroughly as possible.

1. What is the most convenient type of serve that is mostly common among the beginner
players of lawn tennis? Why? 5pts.

The most convenient serve that a beginner should learn is the Flat serve. It is I think the
most basic among any other types of serve. It just simply swings the racket directly towards
the ball with using any spin and other techniques. It is the most common and easiest to
master compared to others. It has a lower margin of error and will give a more consistent
outcome when serving but it should be used strategically for you to hit an ace.

2. Using the Venn Diagram, compare and contrast semi-western forehand grip from
western forehand grip. 15pts.

3. Based on your own preferences, what type of grip would you likely use when you would
play lawn tennis? 10pts.

Personally, I would prefer to use the continental grip when playing. Since I am an
starter in this sport, I would like to start with something that will easily use as a starting
point. When using of this type of grip, it is easier to maintain a solid position of the wrist
where I will feel more comfortable and will secured that it will not slip off my hand. This
grip also enable the player to control the racket definitely which gives a smoother play.
In addition, it is easier for the player to switch volleys from backhand to forehand
through this type of grip. Generally, this is also the most common for beginners for it is
easier to use compared to the other types.
