INTRODUCTIO
N
 What kinds of sports are you involved in
right now, or are interested in getting
involved soon?
 Sports participation may be due to many
different reasons; but whatever your
reasons are for engaging in or being
interested in engaging in sports, sports
bring along numerous benefits especially
to your health.
BADMINTON
Badminton is a net
game played on a
rectangular court
where opponents
volley shuttlecock over
a net using a racket.

include singles,
doubles, and
mixed doubles.
Holding the Racket
Forehand/Handshake Grip
The thumb and pointing
fingers wrapped around
the handle forming a
letter V while the rest
of the fingers are
spread supporting the
bottom part of the
handle.
Forehand/Handshake Grip
This grip is used to hit
the shuttle at the
dominant side of the
body and sometimes at
the non-dominant side
overhead.
Backhand Grip
From the forehand grip
the fingers are moved
slightly to place the
thumb pressing flat on
the flat side of the
handle while the rest of
the fingers are
positioned together.
Backhand Grip
Used to hit the
shuttle at the non-
dominant side of
the body, weaker
hitting side.

Basic Rules
A match shall consist of the best
of three games wherein a game
shall be won by the side which
first scores 21 points. If the
score becomes 20-all, the side
which gains two point lead first,
shall win that games.
