More on Course Requirements

 Participation in various online and offline activities
These activities may be marked as graded or ungraded. The following are
some of the expected activities:
o Exit Tickets – You will most likely be asked what you have
learned from the text you have read or the video you have viewed.
You may also ask questions here, which will be answered by your
teacher next meeting or through consultation. This is done via
Google Forms or Kite for online or through a module section for
offline.
o Drills – These activities are often ungraded, but your participation
will count as your grade. You either participate (perfect score) or
not (no score). These are done through Kahoot, Mentimeter,
Quizlet, Google Forms, or Kite for online or through the activities
after the reading pages for offline.
o Discussion Forums – Class discussions will mostly be
asynchronous through Discussion Forums (DFs) set up in Kite.
Participate actively in the forum by joining in each DF at least
thrice: the first time to post your answer to the discussion

question and the second and third time to react to two classmates’
posts/answers. Be guided by the question and the schedule for
each DF. Each discussion forum has a specific posting period.
Once this is over, the DF is closed and is no longer accessible. DFs
are graded according to your participation and content.
 Quizzes given in our LMS
At the end of each lesson, you will expect a quiz. Most of our
quizzes are given through Kite, but some of it may be given
through Google Forms. Here are some important reminders:
1. Read the instructions first.
2. Make sure you answer ALL items in the quiz.
3. Do not forget to review your answers.
4. Some quizzes may require time limit.
5. Cheating will NOT be tolerated.
6. For short answers, please take note of proper capitalization
since the quiz is case-sensitive (meaning, if the answer to the
question is “Pedro” and you typed “pedro” in the quiz, your
answer will be wrong). Proper nouns should be capitalized;
common nouns are not.
7. For essay type questions, please follow proper capitalization and
punctuation. Your teacher will be the one who will check these
types of questions.
For offline, quizzes are named “CHECKUPS” in your modules.

 Performance Tasks
Each of the Performance Tasks (PTs) comes with an activity guide
and a grading rubric. These will be uploaded in our Kite classroom
at appropriate times. Make sure to follow the guidelines when you
do the PTs.

House Rules
1. Participate in all activities and exercises to maximize your learning.
2. As much as possible, be prompt in participating in all activities and
exercises. Some discussions and activities will have due dates which
means that they close after a certain period of time and you can’t post
anymore.
3. Submit PTs on or before due dates. Late PTs will be accepted, provided
there is a valid reason for the delay. However, they may not be awarded
the highest possible score.
4. When conducting synchronous meetings, you are expected to wear upper
apparel that has collar. You may wear your school uniform, but this is
only optional.
5. Use your full name in all synchronous meetings (Zoom, Google Meet),
emails, and Messenger.
6. PTs should be done in English. Be grammatical in writing. Write with
clarity and coherence. If the PT is a performance, pronounce your words
clearly and make sure your audio can be clearly heard.
7. For all online written or offline printed submissions, we follow the same
format - indented paragraphs, size 12 font, Garamond or Times New
Roman font size, left aligned, double spaced, and 1-inch margin on all
sides.
8. Do your PTs yourself and observe ethics. You may discuss your work
with each other (e.g., during study sessions or in your respective
Messenger group chats) but you should make your own PT.

If you “borrow” or use an idea from another source (meaning someone

other than yourself), be sure to cite the source(s). Enclose quoted
material in quotation marks or use italics and cite the source. As much
as possible, paraphrase rather than lift ideas word for word. Be reminded
that as per POD, plagiarism can be grounds for demerit or suspension.

Always keep a duplicate copy of your PTs just in case it got lost in transit
or because of online glitches.
