Most of us when we hear the word manager the first thing that comes to our mind is having a
high position. But, what exactly are the functions, skills and roles of a manager?

Being a manager is not an easy task. Managers are not just about making decisions, watching over
employees and bossing around. They must know how to plan, organize, lead and control their
constituency and must also have good communication skills, human skills and the ability to motivate
others. They are the ones responsible for overseeing a department or group of employees within a
specific company.Companies depend on managers to fullfill skills and knowledge to help their company
grow. Good managers are almost always good leaders as well.
