Prompt 2: Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or

failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the
experience?
In our present day, we have more than one problem affecting our entire world and
most of us personally and significantly. With this Coronavirus outbreak which affects the
whole world making mor than half of the worlds population to be on lock down, some
separated from their families, without enough food, equipment’s to keep them and their
family members safe and clean. One of these is my case.
This current world COVID-19 pandemic surprised us all and being alone at home in
the absent of my parents who travel but now cannot come back because airports are
blocked, I must handle everything by myself. This came as a challenge for me because, it
happened at a time where I wasn’t prepared at all, whether physically or mentally. It
came as a shock and every day till now, I have to take care of managing the amount food
left, replenishing it and what to cook, the salaries for the workers using the money my
parents left and receiving and keeping my parents merchandise which they were
supposed to retrieve if they were present, which isn’t the case no more because of this
coronavirus outbreak. It suddenly transferred a lot of responsibilities on my shoulders and
before this, I didn’t always take time to pay attention to what everybody needs and all
that stuff.
However, some-time later, I realized that, this is a challenge life has placed on my way for
me to learn because one day I shall not have my parents to help me and I have to be ready
mentally especially for that, wasn’t easy at the beginning but I gradually got the hang of it.
I maned up and took the responsibilities up my sleeve and my parents are happy to see I
can manage all these by my own(cleaning the house, cleaning the dishes, cooking,
managing money wisely, etc.). It made me understand that, life isn’t the same thing when
we don’t have people to help us constantly, that we have to be prepared to face any kind
of challenge and it won’t ever be easy but then, that is what makes us stronger, whether it
is physically, mentally or even intellectually, there are always things to make us pass our
limits and nothing happens without having a purpose behind it, for me, it was to make me
aware of my capabilities, what I lack and how I can and have to grow to be more mature.
Life is full of surprises and unexpected situations, the only thing that makes a difference
upon all of that, is our capacity to adapt and react to these situations rapidly and
efficiently. We can’t just sit down and hope everything shall be done for us, we have to
stand up for what we want and make ourselves clear, many today shall be in very difficult
positions when they will have to departure from home and I don’t just know how they are
going to manage out there, because out here, we are not given things unnecessarily.
Before this event, I thought I knew how hard my parents work to raise my brothers and
sisters and I but with this, I just realized how difficult of a work it is and I need to be ready
because one day it shall be my turn, in my own family or even at my future job, we never
know what the future has for us but, we just have to be ready.
