Agenda

1. New Officer Positions

• All positions will be open for next semester and all members are
encouraged to apply.

2. Valentine’s Bake Sale

• We had an issue with this year’s valentine’s bake sale: usually we
have three days of selling baked goods, however we were denied
the first day (Wednesday the 9th, because the Haitian club had
already schedule a bake sale on that day) and word did not get
around. So, note for future: MAKE SURE WE GOT THE PERMIT FOR
ALL DAYS.

3. Book Sale -> Signup sheets

• We’re having our spring semester book sale from February 22 to

the 25th and all members are more than welcome to volunteer on
tending the tables and if it’s the case donate books.

• We also need volunteers for the book sale setup, which will be
happening on Sunday the February 20th at 7:00am. We’ll have
breakfast for those who help!

• We’ll be getting a HUGE donation from Prof. Greenberg on the

22nd. However we’re not sure of the time yet, but we’ll surely need
some extra help for thos task too!

4. Hallmarks
• Our yearly report was officially SUBMITED! YEY! Good Job Dan
+ Team!

5. Orientation Saturday Feb 12th

• Will be happening from 12:30 to 1:30 on room L-301. Anyone
is welcome to join us and testify about what Phi Theta Kappa
means to you. Since we always get more people attending
than R.S.V.P, we figure it would be better to take the tables
from the room in order to make more space for chairs (and
people. duh).

6. Enhanced Membership Program

• Point Distribution:
- one point for every hour in tables, meeting attended, or
donation to bake sale.
- two points for being part of a committee.
- four points for being a committee leader.
• The Levels:
Everybody starts with zero level. Now, in order to achieve:
LEVEL I: 6 points.
Which would still be coherent to the hand out we gave on the
orientation day, which consists of attending 3 meetings and
participating/attending 3 chapter events.
LEVEL II: 12 points.
Being consistent to 5 meetings, 5 events and being part of
one committee.
LEVEL III: 18 points.
7 meetings, 7 events, and being part od 2 cmts or being the
cmte leader to one event.
• The advantage is that it would be a democratic way to
acknowledge all the different types of involvement. Any
permutation and combination is permitted in order to go
through the levels. However, you have to get at least one of
each checked in order to move up on the level ladder, so we
don't have people only attending meetings and going to level
II.
• There are still improvements to be done and next we’ll figure
a more efficient way to keep track of member’s participation.

7. Mentoring Workshop
• Tentative for Saturday March 26th from 10am to 2pm.
• Will be open for mentors and mentees. Everybody is welcome!
• Should the mentors get their mentees before the honors
luncheon? To be discussed.
• Look for a speaker.
• Get a signup sheet for potential mentors next week.

8. Blood Drive
• Students will be able to help too.
• In Cranford will be happening on March 9th. Will need
kappans to help getting people signup.
• Meet with Dr. Gaba on Thursday the 17th.
• We will try to get a blood drive in Elizabeth as well
with tentative dates for the sign up from April 10th to
20th and with the actual blood drive happening on the
25th.
• Storage Room: Dr Washburn said that it wouldn’t be a
problem to keep the blood drive material in her office
and also that she would be happy to give out flyers
during her class.
• IDEA: We could put flyers in all mail boxes and email
the faculty. ALSO get mentors to help with the
recruitment of men power for Elizabeth.
