Statement of the Problem

Generally, this study aims to propose an implementation of "no school uniform" policy for
students in University of Cebu – Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue Campus and enlighten the dress choice of
students. It is also to investigate the solution of this implementation and to give and promote the
importance of “no school uniform” policy. So, the economic profile of students is much need to know.
The point is that clarity of purpose and outcome is necessary. However, as a stand-alone measure, it
implies that no uniform policy is must implemented. Although wearing a school uniform is less
expensive than buying a whole outfit, uniform can still be pricey. Many schools have a specific supplier
and wearing cheaper alternatives can result in punishment if the black skirt you’re wearing isn’t exactly
the right black skirt. Finding uniform that fits you, especially if you’re limited to one shop, can also be a
struggle.

Implementing a "no school uniform" policy can cut down the expenses of the parents because
students will be satisfied of what they wear. With this case, the right of students to "freedom of
expressions" will be emphasized that "no school uniform" policy may be reasonable.

The reason of this significant study will be to analyze and evaluate the present literature on the
power of compulsory uniforms in school on student behaviour, achievement and attendance.

The objective is to find out if uniform policies are helpful, harmful or have no impact in school.
17 Research show that uniform policy may be useful to the on the whole high school atmosphere and
considerably improve school ambience (Arnold et al., 2003).

Research Questions of the Study

The basic in query being investigated is: how do compulsory uniforms affect high school
students? The crucial study of the literature will be guided by the subsequent questions as follows:

1. How do compulsory uniforms affect the behaviour of high school students?

2. How do mandatory uniforms effect in the high school attendance?

3. How do mandatory uniforms impact the academic achievement of school students?

4. What are the likely profit, and execution of school uniform in high school?

Objectives of the Present Study

This research study aims:

1. to examine the impact of school uniform on students behaviour,

2. to investigate the effect of school uniform on students attendance, and

3. to examine the effect of school uniform on students achievement.

The null hypothesis for the policy analysis is that the implementation of student no school uniform
policies within the university does not influence the student behavior that the university aimed to modify
prior to the policy. The study will reveal students attending the university with a no school uniform policy
will act similarly the way they acted prior to their wearing uniforms.
