Activity: Raise Me Up!

This document provides instructions for an activity where students throw a ball vertically in the air and use a stopwatch to time how long it remains in the air. Students are asked to throw the ball as hard as they can and have a classmate record the total time in the air using a stopwatch. They then divide the total time in half to get the time from release to maximum height and record their data. Students are asked two questions - about how the ball's speed is at its maximum height and how its velocity changes as it falls below the release point.

hard as you can in an open space.
2. Using your stopwatch, asks your classmate
to record the total time the ball remains in the
air. Get the time of the ball from point of
release to its maximum height by dividing the
total time into two. Record your data.
