Kolkata media conference is the 1st international conference or transmedia, media narratives and

storytelling. This conference was being curated by students of NSHM School of media and
communication. Under the guardians of faculty members at administrative school of media and
communication and under the supervision of their director Dr. Firuj Mohammad and the chair person
for Kolkata media conference is their managing trusty and NSHM knowledge campus Kolkata and
Durgapur. Mr. Sicil Antony who had shown his entretenus write on the beginning of the inception of the
idea of at Kolkata media and conference. And none of this would have been possible without extended
support of Loretto College of Kolkata. Loretto College had been associated with them and the students
of Loretto College had made this event equally possible with the co-operation and collaboration of this
student and NSHM School of media and communication. Sister Christine Principal of Loretto College is
the one who had extended her support right from the beginning and they were extremely humble with
the way she had shown the support to them. Kolkata media conference 2020 is the second half of the
session for the Kolkata media conference event which was officially the last day that able to entertain
academicians, scholars for paper presentation for panel enriching discussion and interactions. And all of
the conference partner starting from Kumar Guru College, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, ABP
education as their media partner and PR signal as a publicity partner. They were really thankful to them.
Anisha Ray was the host of the last live session of Kolkata media conference 2020. This conference was
up to start off with the first paper presentation by Nandita Tabassum Khan who is senior lecturer in
University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh and that paper also co-presented by Manwar Hossain who is
working as a news editor in Somoy Television and he also working as an adjunct faculty in MSJ
Department, ULAB. That paper presentation was on the topic of "Hate speech in Bangladesh news
media, case study of the news representation of the intellectual killings". Nandita Tabassum Khan and
the presenter was Manwar Hossain and both of them did really great job with the kind of the topic
because we have a media professional among us and the perspective of inacademition. So, I think when
both of this come together that really enhances the quality of research in a very practical and
academically excellent way. After that the host of Kolkata media conference was invited Dr. Firuj
Mohammad to welcome Fatima Hossain who is media curator, editor and educator (Canada). This
presentation was about of "How Covid-19 is reshaping media consumption patterns". After welcoming
Fatima Hossain, she was talked about the most unwanted shed visitor yet the most related about corona
virus. "It’s novel. It’s nasty. And it just doesn't seem to disappear". She also talked about new digital
behaviors, economic impact, consumer payment alternatives (Advertising model VS subscription model),
online content engagement (Podcasts. Videos. Social media). And again she also talked about creativity
of journalists, living room journalism multitasking, fact checking, boosting digital literacy, renewed
media production, wider reach and engagement alternate revenue models and takeaway (Media
literacy, upgrade skills, commit to a life time of learning, next few month critical). Her wonderful
presentation was very helpful for students that what they can learn, they can do during this covid-19
period. From my perspective her presentation was very short but so much of information and so much
of insides. After Fatima Hossain's presentation there were some students from Loretto College to
present a paper presentation and the students are Nikita Ladha, Adrija Poddar and Soumili Basu. They
were talked about power of advertising in sawing consumption decisions during Covid-19: Comparison
between Swiggy and Zomato. And from my perspective that was really impressive and also proud of the
fact that such a young age that all had a very nice research accruement. After those students, there
were also some of students whose were present a last paper presentation for Kolkata media conference
2020 and those are Debmalya Kanjilal, Shreyasi Das Roy and Shabnam Jaman. They were talked about
Epics: Storytelling under the light of socio-cultural and political perspective. From my perspective they
did that amazing presentation and the paper presentation topic was such an important topic because
storytelling isn't just about all the aspects of entertainment that's around that it also about is about
impact. On of course a social level, a political level, surrounding which are democracy survive at the very
large and its works and humanity survives at the very large. After the last paper presentation, the host of
Kolkata media conference was started their panel discussion. And that panel discussion by Mohammad
Jaw.
