MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

1. First Time in College students must have a 2.5 high school GPA in order to be eligible for talent scholarships.

2. Once an FSCJ GPA is established, a 2.0 must be maintained in order to be eligible for talent scholarships.

3. Students must be registered as a degree-seeking student at the time of application and must be registered in a Program of
Study that allows non-restrictive electives, such as the Associate in Arts degree.

4. No student pursuing an A.S. degree is eligible for our Talent Scholarships except for A.S. students in Digital Media or Graphic
Design, and Technical Theatre.

5. Baccalaureate degree students must take courses within their Program of Study and may only receive either a full-time or half-
time grant.

6. The student must complete a Direct Deposit or Higher One Form and submit it to the Business Office.

7. Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). All financial aid students are required to successfully complete at least 67% of credits
attempted each semester. Grades of D, F, FN, or W do not count toward completion thus may drop you below the 67%
threshold and will result in your award being rescinded.

Special Notes

1. All students must complete a FAFSA and go through the Financial Aid process. Talent scholarship funds will only be
disbursed after all courses that you have registered for have started. Thus, if you register for A15 and C7 courses, your
disbursement will be in the C7 session.

2. Talent Scholarships count toward the maximum permissible award limit imposed by federal law. If the Talent Scholarship
causes the recipient to exceed the ceiling put in place for grants/scholarships/loans, then the Scholarship will be rescinded.

3. Students are encouraged to meet with a financial aid advisor each semester to ensure proper adherence to federal and state
laws concerning financial aid awards.

4. Once the application has been completed and submitted, the award is sent to the financial aid office to be
disbursed. All available award information is available only to you and the financial aid office. Be sure to
regularly check your myfscj account for updates on your award posting.

5. All references to General Education course work means courses listed in the General Education Curriculum
Requirements. See http://catalog.fscj.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=33&poid=5286 or search “General Education
Requirements” at fscj.edu.

6. Talent Scholarships may only pay for a maximum of 60 credit hours toward a first Associate degree and an additional
60 credit hours toward a first baccalaureate degree at FSCJ excluding permissible excess hours though state and federal
guidelines.

7. International students must complete a W8BEN, a Foreign National Form, a W-4, and an IRS form8843. All forms can be
