ORGANIZATION : According to L. White,
"Organization is the arrangement of personnel for
facilitating the accomplishment of some agreed
purpose through allocation of functions and
responsibilities.“

Definition of Professional Organization:


A professional Organization is an organization,
usually nonprofit that exists to a particular
profession, to protect both public interests and the
interests of professionals.

Meetings: ICN meets every 4 years.
The quadrennial meetings are called as
"Congresses" and when they are in session, the
organization is called as the International
Congress of Nurses.

(T.N.A.I)
T.N.A.I. is the national professional
association of nurses. The association had its
beginning in the association of nursing
superintendents which was founded in 1905
at Lucknow.
Non- secretarian, non – political professional
organization whose membership is open to all
RNS who are recognized by INC.
Objectives:
Uphold the dignity and honor of nursing
profession.

Development of various colleges of
nursing in the different states of India.

To improve the living and working


conditions of the nurses and also develop
the educational conditions available for
nursing.

To improve the economic standards of the


nurses in India.
Membership: The membership consists of:

 This association is within the jurisdiction of
T.N.A.I, which was established in 1929. I.
There is a full time secretary for SNA at
national level.

1. To help student to uphold the dignity and
ideals of the profession for which they are
qualifying.
2. To promote a corporate spirit among
students.

UNION
 Union mean s a group of people who
work in the same field, who join
together to negotiate with employer.
 Thus it is defined as a continuing, long
term association of employees formed
and maintained for the specific
purpose, advancing and protecting the
interests of members in their working
relationships with the employers.
AIM:

To bring the problems of the nurses


to the notice of the authorities.
Three unions of nurses are working
at the central level:

Trained Nurses Union (TNU)

and collective bargaining .

COLLECTIVE BARGAINING

ILO has defined Collective Bargaining as, negotiation about
working conditions and terms of employment between an
employer and a group of employees or one or more employee,
organization with a view to reaching an agreement wherein
the terms serve as a code of defining the rights and obligations
of each party in their employment/ industrial relations with
one another.
Importance of Collective

the relations between workers and the
union on the one hand and the
employer on the other.
