Automated Messaging Guideline for Intercom Lead/User

1. Click specific/all leads to export them as csv file (optional)

2. Leads who provided email address are automatically imported as user from intercom.
To manually import leads as users go to users tab and click import

3. Now go to the message tab from left vertical bar and click on “new auto message
button” in upper right corner.

4. Among the three options the most left one is to reply to the targeted user right in the
browser from where he/she started conversation. Second option is for sending email. If
lead doesn’t provide any email address then we can opt for first option. Last option is to
send push notification to user mobile if we have any firebase messaging application API
key.
5. By clicking the 2nd option you will be asked to create an email template. Even you can
test by sending a new test email to thyself.

6. Now choose audience for sending automated message. It may be either lead or user
category. You can even set custom rule for filtering your targets.

7. Set goal for your message such as continuously checking if user has seen the message
or not. Use appropriate filter for goal setting.
8. Now schedule your messaging accordingly.

9. If everything is fine you can live the message.
