environments.
fi

Essentials for

RTI Levels
Supporting
Requirements
• Use of differentiation in association with the RTI
tiering system allows for educational success.

• State and curriculum requirements met in

general, small group, and individualized
settings.

• Various styles of assessments used to gauge

and af rm student learning.
fi

Student Samples
• Student A is currently in Tier 3 Intense
Intervention.

• Requires one on one assistance during the

whole school day. Student A is also in a self-
contained class for the duration of the school
day.

• Progress has been present, however, this

student will continue in the current environment.

Student Samples
• Student B is currently in Tier 2 Targeted
Intervention.

• This student shows many positive signs of

improvement through the combination of general
education and resource room settings.

• A language barrier is also at play in this speci c

case. There is still gradual improvement trending
toward Tier 1 Research-Based Core Instruction.

fi
Technology &
Resources
• Trends among students in the general education
settings and resource/individualized settings
can be targeted via multiple methods of
assessment and technology.

• Understanding and seeing if students are

progressing, regressing, or staying stagnant are
all essential in providing the most productive
educational environment as possible.

Duties as the
Principal
• Providing all students with the best possible
educational environment is essential as principal.

• Making sure that all staff are aware of the

workings of the RTI program and its bene ts,
uses, resources, etc. will be vital to total school
success.

• Understanding the impact of providing a safe, yet

challenging educational environment is crucial.

fi

Duties as the
Principal
• Doing our best to allow students in Tier 2 and 3
of the RTI Levels opportunities to socialize,
interact, and engage with their classmates is a
top priority. (Sports, extracurricular, school
events, etc.)

• This will take a total team effort of staff, students,

and the community to create the nest possible
opportunities.

Goals of RTI
• The goal of the RTI program is to provide all
students with the best possible educational
opportunities as possible.

• This will differ from student to student, and all

successes will be measured differently and
independently.

• The overall goal however, will be to ensure that

students progress through the RTI program, not
regress.

Goals of RTI
• We can measure success of the RTI program
from how many students move their way through
the levels and improve their academic
capabilities.

• This will not be the only measure of success, as

some students major success will only be sense
through their growth and development through
personal skills, not necessarily academic skills.

Support School
Mission & Vision
• The RTI program supports the school mission and
vision of promoting life-long learners.

• Supplying students of all levels with the

opportunities and resources to improve
themselves and their skills is essential to longevity.

• Also, RTI promotes success in areas including

personal and social growth, targeting the whole
child.

Conclusion
• The RTI program will aid and support and variety
of students with a variety of needs.

• The school mission and will be promoted

through this program, further enhancing school
culture.

• Students will achieve success at their own rate,

promoting positive outlooks.
