PROJECT
Project Title: Investigating Plants

1. How is water transported in a plant leaf? Track its path in a leaf.

Materials Required: 3 fresh lettuce leaves, three transparent glasses, water,
3 different water colors or inks.
Procedure: Take three fresh Lettuce leaves and three transparent glasses half-filled with water. Add
different water colors or inks in the water of each glass. Now place one Lettuce leaf in each glass of
colored water in such a way that the bottom of the leaf in dipped in the colored water.
Record your observations after a few hours.
Explain your observation with scientific reason in the form of a PPT.
Mention your observations and explain how water is transported in a plant from roots to leaves. (in your
PPT)

2:-What does a plant need to grow well?

Materials Required: Three small indoor summer plants of the same type and size, water, soil, dark place,
paper, marker
Procedure: Visit a nursery. Take three small indoor plants of the same size and same type which grow well
in summer season. Make sure that you take complete guideline from the experts in the nursery about
taking care of these plants and the amount of water they need every day.
Tag these baby plants as Plant#1, 2, 3.
Provide them with the following conditions.
PLANT # 1: Keep it in a bright and airy place. Give water regularly.
PLANT # 2: Keep it in a dark place. Give water regularly.
PLANT # 3: Keep it in a dark place. Do not give any water.
Record your observations every week. Make a report at the end of July.
Explain your observations with scientific reasons in PPT.

Note: prepare only one ppt to mention your observations and results of both the experiments.
