BAR LAW FOR DUMMIES TRAINING PROGRAM

LABOR LAW AND SOCIAL LEGISLATIONS

FROM NTH TIME BAR CHALLENGERS TO ATTORNEY

HOW TO USE LABOR LAW TOOLS

Hi, this is your trainer, just call me Edgar because I want you to treat me as your friend.
First of all, I would like to thank you for trusting me to guide you in your way up to become a
lawyer. This is such a wonderful culmination of my career. For years, I have been asking God as to
why did he allow me to finish a degree in master of education, then a big lull in career, and
suddenly a big shift to a different path of studying law. Well, the question was answered when I
experienced the way law being taught in law school. Lawyers-professors are undoubtedly experts in
the field but obviously lack the strategies to teach. Puro galit lang ang estratehiya pag sabaw ang
estudyante hahahaha! And even how bar reviews are conducted is a typical “sit-down-and-listen-to-
me” approach, a sure way not to achieve the goal to pass the bar. Well, teaching is a different field.
It is a science that deals with how to translate a big chunk of knowledge into understandable bits
for students to understand at their level of understanding. This what I did for every bar subject.
There is no difficult subject as long as the strategy to understand them is clearly imparted to the
level, not of lawyers or authors but of K-12 students.

Okay, start tayo. I divided Labor Law into eight (8) compartments para maliliit lang ang
kakainin ninyo at a time. Here they are:

1. Compartment 1 Fundamental Principles with 33 pages

2. Compartment 2 Recruitment and Placement with 64 pages

3. Compartment 3 Labor Standards with 118 pages

4. Compartment 4 Post Employment with 383 pages

5. Compartment 5 Labor Relations with 172 pages

6. Compartment 6 Management Prerogative with 44 pages

7. Compartment 7 Social Legislation with 152 pages

8. Compartment 8 Jurisdiction and Remedies with 143 pages

The question is why divide the subject into bits? I did it for convenience. Hindi ba when you
see a bar question, your mind rattles kung saang part ng labor law ang issue. Mapapagod ang utak
mo kasi inaral mo ang labor ng isang buo. Parang isang buong litson mo nilunok ang labor, which
is fatal. Kaya I divided the law into bits or compartments. So kapag nabasa mo ang question like “Is
the RTC CORRECT to issue TRO?” your mind will automatically focus on Compartment 8 lang kasi

duon lang na-encounter ni brain ang phrase na “RTC, intra-corporate dispute, corporate officers,
jurisdiction, labor arbiters etc”. Kaya madali niya ibibigay sa iyo ang answer. Hindi maghahalo-halo
ang mga subjects under Labor Law. So that’s the logic in why it’s important to study each subject
by bits or compartments,

Each compartment is divided into practical exercises. The goal is for mastery of the subject
matter. Kaya I require you to read first the hard copy of BQA Labor Law before you can enrol sa
program proper. Why? Parang ganito yan. If you are going to a far flung place for the first time,
hindi mo pa mama-master ang mga kalsada, the turns, yung mga lumbak or mga one-way, basta
makakapunta ka lang. At ang feeling mo di ba na napakalayo ng place. Kasi it’s your first time to go
to that place. Yan yung purpose ng BQAs Labor law. Kaya ng binasa ninyo yan, nagkaroon ka lang
ng general knowledge saan ka pupunta. It will help you in visualizing your goal as you take on each
compartment. So consider it the first trip. So sa second trip, masasabi mo na – aba malapit lang
pala. Nung una akong pumunta dito parang malayo. Well, the compartment is the second trip
which is to master the subject. I already arrange the second trip into several tools para magkaroon
ka ng mastery of each compartment. So we have the following five (5) tools for each compartment.

Main Tool No. 1 – Some Bar Questions and Answers

Main Tool No. 2 – Practical Exercises

Finishing Tool No. 1 – Case Digests and Doctrines

Finishing Tool No. 2 – Objective Questions and Answers

Finishing Tool No. 3 – Mock Bar Questions

Main Tool No. 1. This includes some bar questions and answers from your hard copy BQAs.

Main Tool No. 2. This is where you will practice on how to answer in ALAC format.

Finishing Tool No. 1. This is for reading case digests and doctrines. These are the legal
bases

for your letter L in ALAC. Kaya this is very important. I used repetition

technique to study them by heart.

Finishing Tool No. 2. Here, you will re-write the answer for the objective questions for
mastery.

Finishing Tool No. 3. Here, the mock bar. I need you to answer in ALAC format

You will notice that the technique to master the subject is by reading the BQAs, re-re-
reading of some BQAs by compartment, answering the practical exercises in ALAC format, re-
reading of cases and doctrines, re-reading of objective questions and re-writing of law, and finally a
mock bar exam. Iikot-ikot lang yan. That is how to master a subject and to prepare you to pass the
bar exam. So don’t skip. They are scientifically designed to build up skills for the next task.

What will you get from joining the program? You can access the following files for each
compartment from teachable.com.

1. 1991-2019 Labor Law Bar Questions and Answers

2. Updated Labor Law Current Events and Decisions

3. Main Tool No. 1 – Bar Questions and Answers

4. Main Tool No. 2 - Practical Exercises

5. Finishing Tool No. 1 – Cases and Doctrines

6. Finishing Tool No. 2 - Objective questions and Answers

7. Finishing Tool No. 3 – Mock Bar Examinations

Also, you will be asked to accomplish the practical exercises, objective questions and mock
bar exams online via teachable.com. Magkakaroon ako ng evaluation of your answers and will give
you a narrative para alam ninyo po ang mag kulang ninyo in terms of forms and substance. I will
not let you enrol to the next subject which is Political Law, unless marunong na kayong mag-spot
ng issue at mag-answer in ALAC format. Sayang ang pera at panahon kaya wag mag-magaling at
mag-enrol nang mag-enrol to the next subject. I want to train you sa Labor pa lang para when we
go to the next subject – chicken feed na lang.

Then during pre-week. I will be guiding you by posting last minute tips (LMTs) kahit hindi
ako masyadong naniniwala diyan hahahaha. Mas paniwala ako sa current events. So I will post
possible questions based on current events and decisions.

How much is it to join the program per subject? The cost is only P2,000.00 each subject.
Per subject ang enrolment para makatipid kayo at hindi biglaan ang bayad. Why? My technique to
impart is not exclusive to me. Kasi my purpose is to train you as a mentor. If after Labor Law pa
lang, alam na ninyo ang technique, then, you can do it yourself. Use the hard copy BQAs and make
your own style of reviewer. Also, I know that this program will be effective kaya I am expecting that
for 2022Bar halos lahat ng bar examinees will join the program so I will need many mentors. Kaya I

want you to learn the skills how to facilitate the program and not just learn from it. We will become
partners in 2022Bar.

Do you have other recommendations? Yes. I highly recommend that you order hard copy of
1991 – 2019 Labor Law Bar Questions and Answers and all of each compartment. Iba pa rin ang
hard copy. Nasusulatan, namamarkahan at madaling buklatin. At hindi masakit sa mata like when
you read an e-copy. Kaso lang mahal ang ink if you are going to print them. The BQAs is 300 pages
and the eight (8) compartments all in all is 1,110 pages. So uubos ka ng thousand pesos sa ink and
paper. If you going to a printing shop, they will charge you of minimum P5.00 per page. It will cost
you P7,000.00 para sa hard copy. Kaya, I bought two (2) heavy-duty printing machine. If you like to
order hard copy, let me know. You just pay for the bond paper, ink and other maintenance cost ng
machine. This is to help you save some money.

So, the 1991-2019 Labor Law BQAs is only P650, and the eight (8) compartments is
P2,200. Almost P2.00 pesos lang per page ang print copy (not photocopy). I repeat this is optional. If
you have bionic eyes, ok go with the e-copy.

May iba pa bang gastusan? Hahaha wala na. P2,000 lang yan to join the program.

When can I join? Those who have avail of the hard copy BQAs shall be prioritized and thy
shall receive an invitation on or before January 15, 2021 to join the Labor Law program. Then, pag
ready na yung iba pang subjects, I will let you know.

SO HOW TO STUDY LABOR LAW FOR THE BAR? Here are the steps. Check each box
when you accomplish and every step. Again, do not skip.

o STEP 1. Read my article “How to Answer Bar Questions” Nasa website natin yan ha.
Aralin ninyong mahusay paano mag-answer in ALAC Format.

o STEP 2. Do the first trip by reading and marking the hard copy of BQAs Labor Law.

o STEP 3. Do the second trip by:

kung ano na lang format. Dapat malinaw ang direct answer and most
importantly the legal basis.

o Read e-copy (or hard copy) of finishing tool no. 1 – cases and doctrines. Mark
them as you read along for better retention.

o Read the e-copy (or hard copy) of finishing tool no. 2 – Objective questions and
answers.

o Answer finishing tool no. 2 – answer the objective questions in direct format.

o Finally, answer Finishing tool no. 3 – the Mock Bar Exam using ALAC format.

o Submit your work and go to the next compartment. Repeat step no. 3.

I will check your work and give you a narrative assessment, not grade. Para malaman ninyo
ang specific areas where you should put more effort to improve.

Ok you can now start with Labor Law. Never leave the subject na hindi ninyo perfected ang
skills dahil you will use them to the succeeding subjects. Sa umpisa, expect that slow-pace yan but
as you go along at nakukuha na ninyo yung technique, bibilis na ang accomplishment ninyo ng
mga tools. God bless and I am 100% sure that you will finally pass the bar 2021.

Just call me EDGAR
