REQUEST TO TRIAL AN ORGANIC SOIL AMENDMENT FOR PURPOSE OF GRANTING IMPORT LICENSE
TO MILANZI HOLDING LTD

Greetings Director,

My name is Chiku Chikoti, Soil Productivity and Fertility Director of Milanzi Holding Ltd, a wholly
Malawian owned and operated investment company with interests in the agriculture sector as a
grower and buyer of agricultural commodities, who are venturing into the supply of agro inputs in
the form of GrowPro, a 100% organic microbiological soil amendment inoculant as part of our
investment portfolio. I come to you on behalf of the founder and Managing Director of Milanzi
Holdings Mr. Arthur Milanzi.

GrowPro as stated above is an organic soil amendment that uses microbiological organisms to
enhance the biological aspect of the soil which in turn enhances its productivity by increasing soil
organic matter, which is the soils life driving principle. Due to the fact that Soil Organic Matter (SOM)
is so essential to soil productivity due to it being the "life" of the soil, it has worryingly been noted by
various sources such as the FAO and NASA through their timeline studies (together spanning almost
2 decades from 2000-2017) that Malawi’s SOM and subsequently Malawi’s soil health and
productivity has drastically deteriorated due to conventional farming practices, GMO inputs and a
heavy reliance on synthetic fertilisers which has led to decreased agricultural input and increased
food insecurity and environmental degradation affecting all sectors of the local populous.

Figure 1: Soil Productivity Map (2000-2013 NASA MODIS MOD17A3)

Figure 2: Organic carbon map (FAO Publication: “Soil Loss Assessment in Malawi 2017”)

Various efforts have been made the past decade in halting the decline of soil fertility and while some
actions have been commendable, they haven’t been the essential solution due to them not hitting
the “Triple Bottom Line” of Environmental, Economic and Practical Sustainability for farmers
therefore not being adopted with the least of these three concerns (to most farmers) being
Environmental sustainability and the most import being the Economic, which is upside down in
reality.

The reason it is upside down is because in essence, a healthy, productive environment will provide
the practical functions necessary for a crop to thrive, which will in turn increase economic benefit,
which is a farmers dream! Saying this, it has to be honesty noted that since readily available solutions
that are easy to use and are affordable are not so available it tends to lead to farmers taking the least
resistance which the group Managing Director Mr Arthur Milanzi noted a while ago and sought out
the right solution for farmers here in Malawi which is GrowPro.

Not to sound to pushy, but In all honesty GrowPro needs to be made available to Malawi’s farming
population sooner than later due to the fact that our environmental degradation is being
compounded every single growing cycle (Timelapse evidence above) hence our urgent request to
your Research Facilities to test and evaluate GrowPro in Malawian soils with a view to granting
Milanzi Holdings Ltd with an import approval to introduce to farmers.

We are confident that Grow Pro is the right sort of soil amendment for Malawian Soils due to our
neighbors Zambia and Mozambique having massive success with it to the point of introducing it to
their public as far back as 2018. Supporting evidence of this is attached along with this letter with a
key reference being Zambias Ministry of Agriculture not hesitating in approving GrowPro and now
having certified organic agro inputs which are revolutionizing Zambia’s Organic Growers Market
Potential.

Saying this, we know that under your leadership, your research department has taken steps no other
research team has ever done in Malawi by introducing microbial testing parameters to your wide
range of other tests and services and as such, we would like to further present to you Dear Director,
GrowPro, a product in line with your dynamic vision and stewardship of your research department
which you know holds the key to a lot of positive directives Malawi’s agricultural sector has taken
and will take.

To conclude, just as man has body, mind and spirit, we should look to the soil as also having its own
trinity of physical, chemical and biological because it too is a living being. Just as a man who becomes
dysfunctional when one of those 3 aspects is neglected or damaged, so too the does the soil become
dysfunctional when one of the aspects are neglected and left unchecked. With these facts, we should
take note that previous agricultural efforts have been focused on “that which is seen” the external
and traceable aspects of soil, the physical (seed types (GMO, Hybrid and Organic), planting
techniques (tillage or No tillage etc.), and chemical ones (synthetic fertilizers, manures, pesticides
and fungicides), two thirds of the soil trinity which while ok for a start, has undermined its full
potential. Now we have to make aggressive moves to bring back the third aspect of the soil trinity
back into play, the biological aspect. The factory aspect. The organic matter aspect. The growing
aspect. The life aspect of the soil and you can be guaranteed that GrowPro is a premium amendment
in that regard.

Thank you for your time and consideration and we at Milanzi Holdings are looking forward to hearing
from you.

On behalf of the Managing Director
