You might have heard about the increasing use of cannabis by people across the world?
Well, yes, its use is increasing rapidly because of its relaxing and calming effects.
Cannabis is a psychoactive plant that turns into the most common drug after getting dried
up. Its most common name is Marijuana, along with weed and pot. Cannabis is made up of more
than 120 cannabinoids, out of which some are toxics, while there are in-toxic cannabinoids as
well.
The in-toxic cannabinoids have made Cannabis use for medical purposes. Still, there has
been a healthy debate on either Cannabis has positive or negative effects on the brain, which I
will be discussing with you in this article.
Prevent Alzheimer's
Alzheimer's disease causes the degeneration of brain cells, which leads to a
progressive disorder and causes the disease named Dementia. The condition declines a person's
ability to function independently as he cannot think, behave, or perform normally.
THC cannabinoids present in cannabis are known to stop this disease by blocking the
formation of the enzymes that makes amyloid plaques. These plaques are mainly responsible for
killing the brain cells, which leads to Alzheimer's disease.
Cannabis helps in reducing the pain of Parkinson suffering people. It has also been
reported that lesser tremors are observed in Parkinson suffering people after they used Cannabis.
Cannabis has been reported to stop the muscle spasms and adverse neurological
effects caused by multiple sclerosis. The THC cannabinoids reduce the pain of the patients by
bonding the receptors in the muscles and nerves.
Reduces Symptoms of Tourette's Syndrome
Do you know cannabinoids reduce the symptoms of Tourette's syndrome? The
use of cannabinoids for Tourette's syndrome patients helps them by experiencing less number of
tics. It is used in adults usually to control the syndrome and avoid involuntary movements and
vocalization.
The volume is involved in ensuring the proper functioning of the brain, such as
learning, memory, and impulse control. People who use cannabis are found to be weak in these
areas and get difficulty as they grow up.
Psychosis
People who consume cannabis in a large quantity are at a higher risk of psychosis.
It is a condition in which a person starts seeing, hear, or believe things that are not real. Cannabis
affects the brain process information, which leads to many other diseases and problems.
Final Thoughts
Cannabis has its pros and cons on the brain. It has been getting legal in many parts of the
world, which should be stopped. The use of Cannabis should be limited for medical purposes as
if it would be readily available more people will use it.
The addiction to cannabis drugs is difficult to overcome and results in many diseases and
daily problems. It should be avoided to live an everyday and healthy life and should be allowed
in treatments and medicines only.
