'The use of organisational politics is key to a successful career' do you agree with this

statement? Critically evaluate this statement using theory, evidence, and examples.

The key concept of the statement is the impact of organizational politics on a successful career';

the statement is true, organizational policies are the key factors of a successful career; it helps

human resource to polish their skills and abilities and assist them in growing. Organizational

policies help employees better understand their job, provide them better opportunities to learn

new things in the job environment, and include general policies, special policies, functional

policies, and many more. The organizations who implement effective organizational policies

tend to be highly successful in terms of productivity and efficiency as it helps workers to better

understand the need of the job. Organizational policies is a necessary element because is works

as a whole by providing appropriate on the job training , by providing effective strategies how to

deal in a critical situation , providing knowledge how to work in a team or develop skills related

to critical thinking management and decision making in workplace , that probably increase

higher career growth for employees .

The organizational policies are highly matter to achieve the goals and objectives. Policies

provide guidance reliability, responsibility, competence, and intelligibility on how to achieve the

target. When organizations make effective organizational policies intended to increase the

performance of their employees, they achieve their goals oriented on time. Sometimes employees

don’t want to work in strict policies however it will provide them long term positive result in

terms of successful career as it helps them to learn and manage the things in job environment.

Organizational policies provide road map for daily operations, it helps workers to learn the

things and use it in an appropriate way, which result higher career growth.

Organizational policies are a highly significant factor to boost the efficiency of employees and

raise their career growth, it assist them to learn in physical environment and help them to better

increase their performance. Learning is important but employees learn more through

organizational policy of on job experience, it helps them identify their strength and weakness and

facilitate them to grow. Career development policy leads successful career. The policy of career

development increases employee’s morale and motivation. Many organizations implement the

strategy of secession planning policies in their organizations, it assist employees to learn the

things that they need most to increase their performances.

The employees become highly motivated, when they have good management support in career

development, as it empowers them to accept the challenges, and boost their efficiency. Career

development is a key aspect its view as partnership with employees traditionally companies we

concerned for the career development of their employees intended to achieve long term goals but

now employees are more concerns to leans the new things mean to achieve successful career

(McIlveen, Career Development Research for Evidence-Based Policy 2010). In old concept,

organizational policies leads higher work stress and decrease the employees performance level

but now employees are more responsible to polish their skills and abilities for better and

successful career as the world changes in to technological advancement , experiences does not

count in workplace , the technological advancement is more valuable to handle complex task and

duties . Thus to be advance in overall technological factors, employees have to work hard under

organizational policies for future growth (Varma 2017).

The organizations who do not have sufficient planning and not focusing on organizational

policies , they are less effective in terms of productivity because their employees take all the

work for granted and do not appear as a responsible human resource to carry out any project in

organization (Johnson, Succession Planning for Large and Small Organizations: A Practical

Review of Professional Business Corporations 2018) . The organizations who offer good

opportunity of career development to their employees, their employees become highly

motivated, dedicated and loyal with the organization. Moreover organizational policy of

supportive work environment, reward and recognition, organizational learning and organization

support increases employee engagement in organization and higher career growth. We can’t

ignore the importance of career management, career management help employees to identify

their weakness and polish their abilities, it leads successful career. Management uses various

techniques in their career management program for better align the work performances of their

employees (Johnson n.d.).

The organizational policy of self assessment and self exploration empower employees to judge

their own performances and help them to be professionally independent, which results successful

career. Following are the organizational policies that leads higher successful career.

Career research policies helps employees to identify their qualities, organization use this strategy

to find out the skill and interest of work and capability level of employees. Through this policy,

employees find out their level of interest, which skill is best suit to them. This policy ensures

higher productivity by assign the job according to the interest of the employee that positively

leads them towards successful career (McIlveen 2010).

On and off job training is the best organizational policy for career management. It helps

employees to learn new skills and abilities and help to learn more advance work techniques. it

assist employees to polish their skill and find better work opportunities , on the job training

facilitate employees to learn from experience ,and help them how to deal with organizational

issues . It facilitates them to learn from personal experience, allow them to learn something new

and provide them advance knowledge to carry out their job (On job Training and Its

Effectiveness: An Employee Perspective 2016). On the job training is necessary factor as it

increases the abilities of employees from time to time. Every employees need learning as world

goes to technological advancement, to learn the new things or to implement the change in

organization, employee’s needs to advance their skills, it leads higher successful career(Ismail

2017).

The policy of employee empowerment has a positive impact of higher career growth and

development of employees. When organizations empower their employees to perform the task

and duties, to make decisions by their own, it increase higher employee creativity, and facilitate

employees to advance their career towards successful path (Tjosvold 2006). Empowerment

facilitates employees to apply new ways of working and help them to learn the things outside the

organization as well. Empowerment encourages employee morale and facilitates them to think

outside the box and discover new ways of working according to the needs of modern business

requirement, which leads them towards successful career path(Milhem 2014).

The policy of succession planning facilitate employees to know their weakness and strength and

better understand their working capabilities moreover it also facilitate them to learn from their

mistakes intended to better career management and growth . the organizations also works on the

strategy of performance appraisals to their employees , it provide them detail Swot analysis of

their work performance and guide them and encourage them to deal with their weakness that

leads them towards successful career development(Lie 2016).

The relationship between supportive work environment policy and successful career is positive.

supportive work environment facilitate employees to be more creative , independent and

professional as , when employees working in a supportive environment they give their full and

share their all difficulties and issues with their leaders , that help them to learn and polish their

skills moreover it also facilitate them to work in care free environment , which result higher

performance and productivity . supportive work environment is highly helpful to increase

superior organizational behavior and help employees to take risk without any fear, it help

employees to share their views and help them to participate in decision making and exchange of

ideas furthermore it also facilitate employees to carry the right work attitude that increase higher

professionalism in their personality, which leads good opportunity of development and career

growth of employees(Z. Ali 2018).

The relationship between employee motivation and employee career growth have optimistic

relationship. The employees tend to be highly productive, when they motivate by their

management. Employee motivation facilitate them higher satisfaction in job. They become

highly satisfied with the job and does their work with more creatively, they learn new things in

daily operations to win the reward and recognition from their management (KHAN 2011). They

try to give their full effort in their job performance and do their best for higher competency and

advancement. the motivated employees fell less work pressure and take risk easily ,it facilitate

them to work with innovation , motivated employees are highly productive , when employees are

motivated by their management , they effort more in their job and learn different techniques to

polish their skills which leads them towards higher and successful career(Varma 2018) .

Organizations using remote working to increase higher productivity of employees. Remote

working is highly helpful for employees as it help employees to learn the cultural differences,

and facilitate to find the different ways of working. When employees remote to different country

they lean different skills and techniques how to solve the problems, how to achieve the targets,

how to set the goals and objectives, how to achieve the mission and vision of the organization

and help to increase higher flexibility and autonomy in workplace that leads higher career growth

of the employee. Remote working increase the employee productivity as it help them to learn

different ways, how to increase carry out any task and duties without go to office. Which leads

high career growth of employees.

Following are the policies that organization implements for effective career management.

1 Stacey Adams' equity theory is providing evidence that there is a positive relationship between

organizational policies and superior career. The theory involves increasing the enthusiasm of

employee on the basics of equality and fairness. it compare one employee to another employee

on the basics of performances and organizational behavior , through which employees become

highly responsible to deal with their weakness, which leads them towards professional career

management and growth (o. Ogolo 2016) . The theory is relevant, when employees do not want

to learn the new things and only consider their old method of working, and do not accept

performance limitation. Through this strategy; they become stimulate to win the race, which

result competence and productivity increases(Ogolo 2016).

The organization using the policy of Hackman and Oldham job characteristics model theory

intended to increase the productivity and higher career growth of employees. The process of this

theory involves to providing challenging task to employee intended to boost the creativity and

innovation in employee performance. The theory help employees to study the strategies how to

deal with challenging task and how to complete in specific deadline with full determination. The

theory is highly efficient for employees in their career expansion and helps them to be growing

professionally as challenges make individual strong (S. A. Ali, Hackman and Oldham’s Job

Characteristics Model to Job Satisfaction 2013). The element of this theory is involved three

characteristics accomplishment, affiliation, and supremacy. This theory motivate individuals to

achieve higher accomplishment for future growth , increase affiliation to better connected with

the organization and increase supremacy to advance their capabilities in to superior direction(S.

A. Ali 2014) .

The organization using the policy of Vroom expectancy motivation theory intended to increase

the interpersonal capabilities of their employees meant to achieve long –term goals. The theory is

aim to increase overall development of employees related to personality, expertise, acquaintance,

knowledge and aptitude (Nsofor 2009). The theory assist employees to maximize their

performance by measuring their expected performance though their current performance. when

management measure their performances , employees become answerable about their

performances , which result they increase their capabilities through on job learning and provide

expected results through reducing their flaw , which ultimately give them high benefits in long

term and help them to advance their career(Patil 2019).

The organization using the policy of ERG motivation theory Alderfer in workplace intended to

deals with all physiological, common, and behavioral issues. When employees have more

limitation in their performances , when they not have enough skills to meet the higher level

objectives, the organization applied this theory that help employees to find out their weakness

from lower level , when their lower level needs fulfill then they consent to polish their skills in

higher level performances . Which ultimately reduce their weakness and facilitate them to

improve and polish their skills and better career growth(Mohammed 2018).

Frank Parsons' Trait and Factor Theory is related to fourth career theory. Organization using the

policy to implement this theory intended to match the employee’s skills and abilities according to

their interest. When individual is doing the job on the basics of their skills and abilities, they tend

to be highly productive, thus to ensure effectiveness in performance, individual using this theory

and matching this theory result to find the relevant job and duties . It helps the employees to link

job factor duties with personality factors. It helps employees for better career advancement to

find the most appropriate job according to their job of interest (Atli 2016).

Organizations apply Super's Developmental Self-Concept Theory to provide on job experience

learning to their employees. This theory is relevant as it help the employees to learn the things

from their experiences and increase their working capabilities, which leads them to be more

advance high level career promotions(FLANIGAN 2019).

The organizations use Super's Developmental Self-Concept Theory to increase productivity of

their employees by providing them performance appraisal and help to develop the scenes of

importance, how much their performance is influence their career growth and organizational

effectiveness, through this theory employee become sensible and improve their job recital. The

theory assists employees to realize their self accuracy and importance to change over time to

time, when planning for career growth and promotion in workplace (Jena 2020).

The theories is exclusively support my answers, as it describe the true evidence. These theories

are highly beneficial for career growth of employees as sometimes employees do not want to

learn the new things and only consider their old method of working, and do not accept

performance limitation. Through this strategy; they become stimulate to win the race, which

Organizational policies and superior career are correlated with each other as workplace is the

best platform to learn annd polish the skills and abilities. The modern way of business is

different , new talents are more encourage and welcoming in the organization , who know how to

handle the complexity of the working environment , how to carry out the modern way of

working in efficient manner rand how to manage the advance new technologies (Ksenofontov

2019).

To increase the higher career advancement, employees doing free internship jobs to learn the

workplace challenges moreover to study the things in physical environment, employees doing

free services to advance their skills and to better structure their working portfolio. according to

the report, 70% organizations are now change to technological software’s working, they need

more advance peoples to run their all business operations through software’s, to run the

software’s effectively, employees need to be professionally present in the workplace as

educational sector cant provide the live experience to handle complex software’s and heavy

machines, its only be learn through organizational job (Väyrynen 2010).

Organizational learning help employees, how to behave in the workplace, how to perform in the

workplace, it help them to develop understanding, how to make performance better, how to react

in difficult situation, how to meet the organizational goal and provide knowledge how to achieve

the organizational effectiveness. it is helpful to motivate the employees and help them to

professionally grow. The scope of organizational learning includes people, structure and

technology that leads superior career opportunities for employees.

The policy of Globalization increase diversity in work place by combine other culture people

together in a workplace , they work together , share their views , custom , events , values

together that ultimately increase their career opportunity , globalization affect organizational

behavior of human resource as it provide knowledge how to behave in different culture festive ,

how to react and how to celebrate moreover help employees to learn new things , new ways of

work , usage of technologies and help them to polish their skills and abilities more by working in

a different environment in a different country in a different way .

To conclude organizational policies is a highly significant factor to boost the efficiency of
