INTRODUCTION
WRITE LIKE A NINJA

We are living in an age, where digital media and new digital


tools are revolutionizing the world. Schools need to help the
student learn the skills, not block and censor the internet. This is a
style of writing that is used to report news stories in a variety of
media formats.

● OBJECTIVES: IN THIS MODULE WE WERE ABLE TO:

1. Need to train the kids to have the skills needed in journalism

2. Communicate using multiple media

3. Read and write for the web

4. Use writing for effective and significant journalism

VOCABULARY LIST

Responsibility- the right of a newspaper to attract and hold


readers is restricted by nothing but considerations of public
welfare.

Independence- freedom from obligations except that of fidelity to


the public interest is vital.

Sincerity, Truthfulness and Accuracy- a newspaper is constrained


to be truthful at all times.

Impartiality- News reports should be free from opinions or bias of


any kind. Everything written should be based from gathered data’s.

Decency- A conviction of sincerity to profess high moral purpose,


supply incentives of conduct, such as are to be found in details of
crime and vice, publication of which is should be demonstrated for
the general good.
Fair Play- A newspaper should not publish unofficial charges,
affecting reputation or moral character, without opportunity given to
the accused to be heard; right practice demands the giving of such
opportunity in all cases of serious accusation outside judicial
proceedings.

Freedom of Press- Freedom of the press is to be guarded as a
vital right of mankind. It is the unquestionable right by law,
including the wisdom of any restrictive statute.

Investigative Journalism- it involves thoroughly researching a


topic to expose evidence and deliver findings of findings.
Investigative journalists conduct in-depth research and use various
tactics to collect information.

Watch Dog Journalism- watch dog journalism is a genre intended


to guard society against illegal activity or inefficiency from societal
powers, such as corporations and politicians.

Online Journalism- this type of journalism reports facts through


internet media, such as digital newspapers, blogs or social media.
All kinds of information is freely available on the internet, but
sources are not always credible.

Broadcast journalism- Broadcast journalism reports information


to the public through media such as radio and television.

Opinion Journalism- Opinion journalism reports on a topic using


subjective ideas rather than objective facts.

Sports Journalism- Sports journalism focuses on the subject of


athletic news. Sports journalists report scores, standings and
rankings for different teams or athletes in different sporting events.

Trade Journalism- Trade journalism reports on a particular


industry or field. Trade journalists detail movements and
developments in business that impact people involved in that field.

Entertainment Journalism- Entertainment journalism relates to


the current events of popular figures and trends. Entertainment
journalists report on the entertainment business, including
celebrities, movies, television, books and events.

Political Journalism- Political journalism focuses on government,


politics and political candidates. It covers different segments of
political activity, such as local, national or international news.

To introduce the San Nicolas Elementary Schools (SNES) Ang


Tinig Writers in the forms of campus writing, a series of journalism
lecture- workshops has been conducted at SNES since the second
week of June.

Lecture-workshops have also been held to help the school paper


moderator select the “Ang Tinigs” new editorial board and the
school’s potential and delegation to the elementary schools press
conference for this year.

Around 20 pupils are the participants to the activity who are all
hoping to get enlisted in the paper and in the presscon team.

Coronavirus : Philippines prepares to file criminal charges


against Manila Police Chief for Quarantine Violations

Criminal charges will be filed against the regime police


chief of Metro Manila. Police Major General Debold Sinas, for
allegedly violating quarantine rules during his 55 th birthday cele-
bration, officials said on Thursday (May 14)

Despite the looming cases, Maj. Gen. Sinas said he


would wait for the results of the investigation and would not go
on leave unless ordered by President Duterte or Philippine
National Police (PNP) Chief General Archie Gamboa.
