Yes there is a need for a standard unit of measurement.

Standard unit of
measurement helps us understand the association of the object with the
measurement, an example of standard unit of measurement is inch, feet
and pounds, in the metric system is centimeters, meters and kilograms.
Whenever scientists does experiment, standard unit of measurement helps
a lot it gives the scientist information and gives scientist a better
understanding, a standard unit of measurement is also important because
it makes it easier for us humans to measure certain objects, like for an
example we need to measure our house to make it fit within walls so that it
would have a good foundation, having good measurements helps a lot by
accurately keeping things nicely measured. Having standard unit of
measurement helps in measuring our body’s mass or our kilogram which
helps us stay healthy, Mass of the same body will be different for different
people according to their own different measurement unit. Then their
measurements can't be comparable, it will be difficult for people to live a
healthy life without measurements because measurements lets us know
about our weight to helps us stay healthy.
