1.0 EXTERNAL HDMI MONITOR CONNECTION

1.1 Premise

When an external monitor has to be connected to a MyLabAlpha/Gamma/Six/Seven system,

please control that all these constraints were respected:

System parameters:
• The system resolution can be detected pressing MENU → General Setup → Control
Panel → Screen Resolution.

Some examples:
o MyLabAlpha/Gamma = 1280*768, 1280*800 or 1366*768
o MyLabSix/Seven = 1280*768 or 1366*768

• The system refresh rate is 60 Hz

• The system scan is progressive and not interlaced
• The selected monitor must have a native resolution equal or higher than the system
resolution
• The manual of the selected monitor must specify that it is able to support (on its used input
connector, HDMI or DVI, depending on the available cable) both the resolution, the
refresh rate and the scan sequence of the system

NOTE: Sometimes changing the resolution on ML Alpha/Gamma to 1280x768 can

solve an issue. The option is available also accessing as user (MENU → General
Setup → Control Panel → Screen Resolution)

• Remind to switch on the system when the monitor was already connected to the system,
switched on and verify that it was not in the stand-by mode: it has to be active

• If the connecting cable is too long of it has a low quality, it may create problems

• As latest check, is possible to try to use HDMI/DVI cable (279025100) or HDMI/VGA

adapter (539005800) to connect the external monitor
