Safety Notes
The magnet installed in the scan room is always under field and
attracts magnetic material. The apparatus and instruments to be
carried into the RF Cage should be non-magnetic. Gurneys,
stretchers or other large metallic objects, which may possibly be
attracted to the magnet, can be dangerous. It could be useful to
differentiate these objects from the standard furnishings through the
use of color-coding.
Items must not be brought into the RF Cage unless they are made of
non-magnetic material. In general, people must be prohibited from
entering the scan room. Local regulations require that warning signs
be posted with respect to possible malfunctioning of instruments or
pacemakers due to the fringe magnetic field. Preventive measures
must be taken with regard to this. A warning sign calling the attention
of the hospital workers and patients entering the scan room must be
posted (refer also to next figure). Carrying a watch, credit card, etc.,
into the RF Cage may cause them to malfunction.

The need for EFI compensation and the shielding method must be

System Grounding
The grounding conductor must be insulated and must not be
electrically connected to surrounding structures. To ensure that the
system is grounded properly, the modular shielding RF Cage is
insulated from the floor via corresponding insulating sheeting.
Never perform double ground connections to avoid grounding loop.

Optional ESAOTE RF Cage Fig. 28: ESAOTE Cage Top View: central door configuration
The ESAOTE RF Cage has been specifically design for the G-Scan
Brio installation in order to guarantee high RF shielding capabilities,
installation flexibility and to minimize the space required for the
system installation.
The cage can be installed with three different door configurations
(central, left or right) and with two different heights (up to the knee
orthostatic examinations or up to the ankle orthostatic examinations)
according to the customer needs and site characteristics.

In the next two figures different suggested carts and jacks are shown. Fig. 42: Jack
These jacks are connected to a pump that can rise two or more jacks
simultaneously, but there is a model of jack with its own pump as well.
These jack are very useful specially because they lift the Magnet
using the lip and its height can be adjusted by moving the lip up to
three different levels.
For more info regarding how to lift the Magnet and the necessary
tools refer to the Installation Guide, System Installation chapter.
