Why did the Narendra Modi-led government banned 59 Chinese Apps?

It has surely affected

the chinese technology companies. This is done to safeguard the privacy of 130 crore Indians.
This way we can promote our homeland businesses in a better way. The Press release by the
Ministry of Information Technology reads that “invoking its power under section 69A of the
Information Technology Act read with the relevant provisions of the Information Technology
(Procedure and Safeguards for Blocking of Access of Information by Public) Rules 2009 and in
view of the emergent nature of threats has decided to block 59 apps since in view of the
information available they are engaged in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and
integrity of India, defense of India, the security of the state, and public order.” In the wake of the
tension in Ladakh, boycotting Chinese apps is seen as a strong step. This move hits the interest
of Chinese businesses in India. Indian intelligence agencies have shown red flags to these
apps,but no action was taken from their side,seeing this Indian government took this step.
