[I] Prerequisites

Check system requirements:

Processor minimum x86 / 400 MHz, RAM minimum 160 MB, HD minimum 3 MB
free memory, Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2

Offline Files must be enabled!

Open Explorer => Menu Tools => Folder Options => Offline Files =>

[II] Installation
Step 1:
Install Microsoft Virtual PC with default settings
on installation CD => \MSVPC2004\setup.exe

Step 2:
Run CopyVmc.bat
on installation CD => \CopyVmc.bat
(This may take several minutes)
Eject CD.

Step 3:
Start Microsoft Virtual PC Console
on service PC => Start => All Programs => Microsoft Virtual PC
Virtual PC Console will start with a wizard. Cancel the wizard!

Step 4:
Navigate your explorer to the local directory: \MAMMO_ServiceSW
Run RegisterVmc.bat.

Step 5:
Go to Virtual PC Console and select a virtual computer named like your
service software:
e.g. => MAM3000V4_4 for Mammomat Service Program Version 4.4.
Press Start.

Step 6:
After initializing read important note carefully and set your keyboard
language if necessary.

Step 7:
Repeat Step 5 – 6 for the other virtual machines you need.

Step 8:
Now installation is finished and you can start with service.
Please close all open windows, except the Virtual PC Console.
[II] Using service software
First you must connect your service PC with MAMMOMAT. If the service PC has
no serial port you must use the USB-Serial-Adapter, see chapter [III], Using USB-
Serial Adapter.

To start with service you must select the corresponding virtual machine and start
it.

After initialization check capture of virtual floppy disk. Do this by right-click the
floppy disk icon on the status bar at the bottom of the virtual machine window. If
the virtual disk is captured, the option Release <Name>.vfd is enabled.
In the past software releases this meant „insert floppy disk“ with service software.

Now you can start service software by typing <DOS call> and press <ENTER>,
e.g.: to start Mammomat 3000 Service Program Version 4.4 type SERVICE,
“C:\>service”.

Service SW is starting and you can work like usual.

Table 1 lists relation between service software, virtual floppy disk and calling.

For more information see manual, located in the folder MAMMO_ServiceSW on

installation CD or, after installation, on your service PC.
[III] Using USB-Serial Adapter
Step 1:
Plug the USB cable in to free USB Host port on your service PC.
Windows will automatically find the USB Serial Adapter and will prompt new
hardware wizard.
Please follow the software installation wizard step-by-step.
The Adapter comes with an installation CD.
• For more information see “Manual.pdf” on Adapter CD in folder USB TO
Serial V1.1(DB-9.DB-25)\Manual.

Note:
It’s possible that a warning about Windows Logo testing pop up during
installation.
• You can continue with “Continue Anyway”.
• Don’t stop installation.

Step 2:
Now configure your virtual machines.
Go to Virtual PC Console and open Settings of virtual machine.
The current value of Setting COM1 must match the COM – Port of the Adapter.
Verify this by opening Device Manager. Beneath Ports (COM & LPT) you can
see the port for Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (e.g. COM3).
• For more information see manual of MAMMO Service SW CD.
[IV] Using Virtual PC
To start a virtual machine you must open the Virtual PC Console, select a virtual
machine and press start.

To open Virtual PC Console

On the host operating system desktop, do one of the following:
• If Virtual PC is not running, click Start, point to All Pograms or
Programs, and then click Microsoft Virtual PC.
• If the Virtual PC is running but minimized, right click the Microsoft Virtual
PC icon in the notification area, and then click Show Virtual PC
Console.
When you start Virtual PC, Virtual PC displays the Virtual PC Console, which lists
all registered virtual machines.

Using the host key

Virtual PC uses a variety of keyboard keys to facilitate use of a virtual machine.
This includes a host key and Windows key combinations.
The host key can be used for the following purposes:
• Switching control of a mouse pointer that has been captured by a virtual
machine. Pressing the host key returns control of the pointer to the
host operating system.
By default the host key is the right ALT key. Using the Current host key option
in Virtual PC Console, you can change this to any key that you prefer. The same
host key is used for all virtual machines.

Fore more information see Virtual PC help or manual of MAMMO Service SW

CD.
