O mother-my-love, if you’ll give me your hand,
And go where I ask you to wander,
I will lead you away to a beautiful land,–
The Dreamland that’s waiting out yonder.
We’ll walk in a sweet posie-garden out there,

Child and Mother by Eugene Feld

Where moonlight and starlight are streaming,
And the flowers and the birds are filling the air

From Your Children

With the fragrance and music of dreaming.

There’ll be no little tired-out boy to undress,

No questions or cares to perplex you,
There’ll be no little bruises or bumps to caress,
Nor patching of stockings to vex you;
For I’ll rock you away on a silver-dew stream
And sing you asleep when you’re weary,
And no one shall know of our beautiful dream
But you and your own little dearie.

And when I am tired I’ll nestle my head

In the bosom that’s soothed me so often,
And the wide-awake stars shall sing, in my stead,
A song which our dreaming shall soften.
So, Mother-my-Love, let me take your dear hand,
And away through the starlight we’ll wander,–
Away through the mist to the beautiful land,–
The Dreamland that’s waiting out yonder.
Ruby Jean Doddy Landrum of Shelby, MS, was
born on August 25, 1962. An angel to so many, Ruby was
called home on Christmas Eve., December 24, 2020.
Born in Chicago, IL to Mary Lee and Jimmy Richardson &
raised by Percy Greyer, Ruby devoted her professional
career to caring for elderly people. Edin Shaw Hospital
was one of the employers that benefitted from her
passion for nursing and caring for people.

Ruby’s loved ones remember her for taking care of her

younger siblings & cousins. She is also remembered
most for sharing her gift of Art. In addition to drawing,
she enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including sports,
walking, gardening, and meeting new people. Of all the
things she will be missed for, Ruby’s loved ones will
remember her for telling stories, her sense of humor that
made people laugh, and offering advice. Her children
will carry on her legacy of being a fighter. She protected
her children from moments of struggle. They are the first
to say, they never went hungry.

very proud of: Brian Jenkins (Tamecca), Dejaun Landrum,
Carlos Landrum, and Lakesha Landrum (Joe Henry).
