Course Description

Many of us have spend the months since March in a sea of the unknown. There are many
things that are out of our control. In this series of classes I would like to focus on what we can
control to give us peace and get us through in this very anxious time. I would like us to focus on
using simple ancient techniques to bring wellness into our lives to bring awareness to our minds
and bodies and to nourish our souls both inside and outside. In each of these classes we will
not just learn but also spend a short time practicing each technique. The goal is to help give
you the tools to bring peace and health during these stressful times.

COURSE ONE – GUIDED FULL BODY SCAN AND GUIDED IMAGERY MEDITATIONS

The body scan is one way that you can focus on the body in detail. Paying close attention to
each part individually and how it feels can be a great way to bring a connection between the
body and the mind. It gives you the opportunity to check in with your body and focus on
sensation in the moment bringing acknowledgement without passing judgement. The focus is
merely to bring awareness to the body to later bring healing. We will also practice the use of
guided imagery. This is a wonderful way to take a break and give yourself a mini vacation by
going places in your mind. This has been a useful tool in creating calm and relaxation in a world
of chaos and uncertainty.
COURSE TWO – GENTLE YOGA

Connecting with our bodies through movement is a key component to bringing stress relief and
wellness into our lifestyles. The movement does not have to be vigorous or difficult to bring the
benefits to the body. We will learn to gently connect the breath and the body with movement
that can be done by anyone. In this practice mobility will not be a barrier to creating
movement in the body and bringing awareness and peace to the mind. This form of exercise is
a very valuable part of reaping the benefits to our health as we age.
COURSE THREE – NUTRITION AS MEDICINE

While it is important to nourish the mind, it is equally if not more important to nourish the
body. As we age our nutritional needs change as well as the way we look at food. Food is not
just the way to ease hunger but the way to bring healing to the body by providing everything it
needs to rebuild and bring vitality. We will learn what nutrients are key to bringing renewed
health and where to find them. Not only that but we will perform a short exercise on preparing
an easy recipe to help connect you with your food that way you will not just be eating but
creating health in your own kitchen.

We look forward to sharing the tools you can use in your daily life to bring awareness, reduce stress,
and create health every day. We can make it through these times by showing ourselves a little grace
and love with the gifts of health.
