1. Entitlement
Literature: Researchers have defined the sense of entitlement as a “pervasive
sense that one deserves more and is entitled to more than others” (Campbell et
al. 2004)
Study: Entitlement is one of the most important concepts in process
improvement, and is particularly useful in project selection. It is defined as the
best performance that you can reasonably expect to get from a process (Harry
and Schroeder, 2000)

2. Korean Wave
Literature: The Korean wave portrays an unprecedented frame of Korean
popular culture by the Korean media alongside the line with commercial
nationalism. As a result, the Korean wave is manifested as a regional cultural
trend signifying a triumph of Korean culture (Hyejung, 2007)
Study: During the early stage of the Korean Wave, several case studies were
built based on the popularity of K-drama, which produced a nation-centric
framework to describe its meaning. These studies explored the increasing
regional impacts and visible market shares of K-drama exports, primarily in East
and Southeast Asia (Ha & Yang et al. 2002)

3. Memes:
Literature: Finding a formal definition of Internet meme is not easy. Theorists
have not defined it or characterized the concept of IM in an official manner that
can be used and excerpted by academics. It is important to create a formal
definition of IM in order to facilitate their study in scholarly contexts (e.g., cultural
analysis). Meanwhile, on the internet the use of the term meme has grown in
exponential proportions, that it is possible to say that the term meme is a meme
itself (Sperber, 1996).
Study: There are many ways of defining the meme but there are two that we
should perhaps take particularly seriously. First, Dawkins, who coined the term
meme, described memes as units of cultural transmission which “propagate
themselves in the meme pool by a process which, in the broad sense, can be
called imitation” (Dawkins, 1976 ).

WRAP-UP
A. Literature vs. Studies
Literature- is often from journalist or any officials whereas the opinions and
facts presented matters and can affect the masses' opinion and thinking.
Studies- are from researchers or from official public offices, and thesis rom
different universities and libraries.
B. Primary Sources vs. Secondary Sources vs. Tertiary Sources
Primary sources are created as close to the original event or phenomenon
as it is possible to be. For example, a photograph or video of an event is a
primary source. Data from an experiment is a primary source.
Secondary sources are based on or about the primary sources. For
example, articles and books in which authors interpret data from another
research team's experiment or archival footage of an event are usually
considered secondary sources.
Tertiary sources are one further step removed from that. Tertiary sources
summarize or synthesize the research in secondary sources. For example,
textbooks and reference books are tertiary sources.

ACTIVITY 3

The main staple food in the Philippines is rice. To cater all the needed source of
carbohydrates, there should be an option to augment the problem of any shortages to
meet our daily requirement. In other parts of the country, consumption of other staples
such as corn, banana (saba), sweet potato (camote), cassava, taro (gabi or tuge) are
commonly served as alternate and alternative to rice. In the Philippines, foods are
valued and are an important part of their culture. Although rice makes up majority of
their diet, Filipinos still grow and eat a variety of other foods, these mostly being fruits,
fish and crops. Even though they refer to themselves as an agricultural country, they do
not always have enough land required to meet the needs of the Filipinos, and therefore,
they are forced to import many staple dishes from larger countries in Asia. The two main
foods that the Filipinos grow and eat are rice and corn, they take up two thirds of all
Filipino farmed land. The Philippines is an ideal place to grow corn due to its extremely
fertile farming land and its warmer climate. Corn fields can be found in all different areas
of the Philippines, such as lowlands, upland planes or hilly areas, just as longs as there
is constant rainfall, something that the Philippines always provides. Both yellow and
white corn is grown, but out of the two yellow is the most popular .

WRAP-UP

1. Do you find paraphrasing to be easy? If yes, what tips can you share to
your classmates? If not, what makes it difficult for you?
- Doing a paraphrasing is not an easy task. You should master several important
things. You must have a good command of language, you should be ready to
know many synonyms and antonyms. You must read the text paragraph by
paragraph. You should then express your thoughts and ideas by yourself. Just
read the text and paraphrase it. You must never alter the main meaning of the
text.

2. How do you keep your synthesis free from biases?

- By realizing and accepting that we all have bias, we can learn to watch for it in
ourselves and help others who work with us to do the same. we have to develop tactics
that help us make decisions more consciously. There are three types of approaches
that can help: priming; reorganized structures and systems; and new forms of
accountability. Bias may be as natural as breathing and it may very well be impossible
to drive it out of human consciousness. But by shifting your mindset and inviting
constant inquiry into how you make decisions, you can create businesses in which the
diversity of your workforce is truly the strength that you hoped it would be.

just getting harder to find content, so I’ve stopped doing it out of laziness mostly.

- You can't just take what you want, when you want, because you disagree with
what's being charged.

What I say about the issue

- I tried a couple of streaming sites. The moment I opened one on my laptop I got a pop-
up with a scam on it. I disliked the whole feel of it, and was worried I could be left wide
open to viruses

- Suggesting some change in the laws, replacing these fines with a fee such as
when someone is caught speeding. If you have no money, you would not have
been able to purchase that copyright protected item legally. Regardless of those
facts, pirating in its very nature is illegal. This is a fact many are quick to ignore
when downloading a copyright protected album. It infringes on the right of the
copyright holder to distribute and sell their works as they see fit.
