ISSUES IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

1.0 COURSE OUTCOME


At the end of the course, students should be able to:

1. Demonstrate autonomous learning in acquiring issues associated to global business


strategy and international business environment.
2. Integrate ideas in verbal or in written to support a view on a particular international
business issue.
3. Perform good values and professionalism in implementing project related to
international business environment.

2.0 COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is intended to provide students with the platform to participate in out-of-
classroom activities and class discussions on contemporary issues and challenges of the
global management and international business environment. The lecturer concern will
provide the conceptual baseline and historical backdrop for detail discussions of
management opportunities and current challenges that run through the cases and readings.

4.0 ASSESSMENT

GUIDELINES ASSESSMENT %
1. One case study will be submitted at the end Case study/issue 25
of the semester Group
2. Students are required to write not more than
20 pages paper which elaborate on current issue
base on the project brief given. Students will
discuss the problem as well as the solutions to the
problem selected
3. Only ONE (1) topic is required. No less than
5 references are needed for this assignment.
Students should be able to define the problem,
provide criticisms and possible solutions, back by
through investigations on the topic chosen.
4. Students will be assisted with the format and
content to be explored

For the purpose of the project paper (i.e. case


study), students are required to write an original
paper on CURRENT RURAL AREA ISSUES
RELATED TO INTERNATIONAL
BUSINESS. Students are encouraged to find
topic and to choose something they have a
strong interest in.

As the pandemic COVID19 and many other Group 25
unforeseen events took place, some people have
lost their jobs and income and many is facing
problems especially in rural areas. Hence, for this
semester, IBM651 issues students will try to step
up to help those in need.

1. The community outreach projects can be in


collaboration with NGOs, ICAN and other related
international organization. It can also be done
virtually. Some of the example of the
collaborations programme are with:
Food Bank Malaysia, Kembara Kitchen, ASNAF
Society
CARE Clinic, CREATE, YAYASAN EMKAY
and many others.
2. Another option is to do a virtual seminar/event
discussing the impact and rural areas issues and
solutions related topics with relevant international
organizations and bodies.

Students are required to prepare a review/article Report/presentation/infographic 20


review pertaining to Issues in International base on chapter in syllabus
Business. Students may choose any articles from Individual
journals or magazines or internet based on chapter
in syllabus. NO newspaper articles are allowed.
Students need to enclose the article/references as
appendix.

on the article provided pertaining to Issues in
International Business.
