Writing task 2 Work and Career

Some employers offer their employees subsidized membership of gyms and sports clubs, believing that
this will make their staff healthier and thus more effective at work. Other employees see no benefit in
doing so.

Consider the arguments from both aspects of this possible debate, and reach a conclusion.

1. Productivity The ability of people (worker) to produce a useful result at work.
Ex: Studies illustrate that if the working conditions are pleasant,
productivity, quality and benefit increase.

2. Subsidize To give money to somebody/organization to help pay for something


Ex: The supported employment program subsidizes employers to
pay for their employees during the COVID 19 pandemic.
3. Output The amount of money that a person/machine/organization
produces
Ex: Machinery method will reduce the number of employees in
factories and increase the productivity of outputs.
4. Work balance Employers who can achieve work-life balance eventually turn out
to be successful.
5. To motivate people Her inspirational life story has motivated a huge number of people
around the world to appreciate their existence.
6. To pay increments To pay for an increase in the number or amount of something
Ex: An annual increment is paid to each employee in the enterprise
as bonuses to support increasing their work effectiveness.
7. Perks Something you receive as well as your wages for doing a particular
job
Ex: Perks offered by the corporation consist of bonuses and free
membership of sports clubs.
8. Financial reward Employees can achieve further bonuses and financial rewards if the
company’s revenue at the end of the year grows.
9. Bonuses An extra amount of money that is given to you as
a present or reward for good work
Ex: Wonderful weather is an added bonus, but the true appeal of
Da Lat is its variety of fantastic sceneries.

11. Job satisfaction Job satisfaction or employee satisfaction is a measure of
