The recent covid-19 scene has seriously disrupted

not only economies and societies but also the general lifestyle of the common man.
From work environments to learning platforms to even
feeding habits, everything has changed drastically. The rich and the poor, the
common as well as the elite, the citizens as well as
the government, everyone has been impacted in one way or the another. However, this
does not mean that life will stop. There have been
tragedies in the past and there will be more in future. We just have to do what we
have
always done that is adopt and thus, survive.

Adaptation is difficult but equally essential- no

matter which social section or age group or culture one belongs to. I, as a
homemaker have faced
dire circumstances during the lockdown. Unlike
traditional jobs, my job was always been a full time yet the recent changes have
redefined the term
full time to a whole new level. The collective
responsibilities of being a mother, a wife and a daughter, amongst others have been
multiplied severalfolds.

As a consequence of the cruel times, several family

members are forced to stay apart and in isolation, putting relationships to a test.

In several cases, this has led to mental issues in

individuals, often because of living alone, adding to the stress due to increased
workloads.

This has enhanced the importance of mental peace more

than ever. Practices like yoga, meditaion are the best saviours in this situation
and have helped me a lot.
Not only this, but also our thoughts should be
directed towards introspection and self improvement instead of the thousands of
negative thoughts scattered around.

One positive aspect of the situation is the

reaization regarding the fragility and importance of life that it has endowed upon
us. Some people have become
more cautious than ever and adopted to the social
distancing and mask wearing norms. We have to accept and promote the fact that this
is the new normal and
one small act of carefulness can save ours and
others' life. It is time to completely switch to the most powerful tool we have-
technology. From home deliveries
to online meetings, everything is being carried out
(though not so smoothly) through the internet. As a person being completely new to
such things, it is equally tough for me
as well as thousands of men and women out there to
perfectly operate such features. But, we have to learn and we have to adopt, no
matter from what source or through what
medium. There is nothing wrong in consulting our
younger siblings or even our children as a source of help in this regard.

Self reliance( Atmanirbhar) is the need of the hour.

Our home has become our new school, our farmland, our fitness centre, our office,
even our hospital.
All we need to do is accept, adopt and advance.
