a) Define critical thinking. (5 marks)

Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing,
applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by,
observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action.

b) Imagine you were a campaign manager for one of the Presidential candidates in the Ugandan race
this season. You are aware that mass gatherings spark the spread of the corona virus. Design a campaign
strategy that creates awareness of the danger of crowds through your manifesto. But address real issues
affecting Ugandans at the grassroots. Relate problem solving to critical thinking using the passage as a
background. (10 marks)

c) The COVID19 pandemic has escalated massive changes in global economies. Lives has changed
worldwide. Livelihoods have had to transform. Explain the conditions that must be achieved for
exploring problems and creating solutions to those problems in light of recent events following the
outbreak of the corona virus. (10 marks)
