Brother Sun & Sister Moon

Long long time ago, there lived a widow. She was very poor but she had two children – a boy
and a girl and a daughter to support. So she had to do all the work that came in her way. One
day she went to a faraway village. There was a big feast so she was also asked to work. The
work was over at a very late hour, and the mother had to go back home because her children
were waiting for her to return. She had wrapped up some food, leftovers from the party like 떡
rice cake and 전, fried meat. And she was carrying these leftovers with her and walking back
home on the long trails through mountains. She had to go over a lot of hills.

“Oh, how my children like this rice cake!” The mother was hurrying herself, thinking about her
children. When she went over a hill, a huge tiger turned up. “Grrrrrrr~~~” He said, “If you give
me a piece of rice cake, I won’t eat you up.” So she gave one piece to the tiger.
She went over another hill, and she found this tiger had been already there, waiting for her. “If
you give me another price of cake, I won’t eat you up!” So she gave another piece of rice cake
to the tiger.
She went over the next hill, and again the tiger was already there. He said, “Another piece of
rice cake~~” Again she had to give another piece of rice cake.

The same thing happened again and again until she was left with no rice cake.
