Case #1

Mr. Lopez is a neophyte teacher in Mapula ES. Based on


the test results of his Grade 3 pupils in Math, more than
50% of his pupils got a failing grade at the end of the
Third Grading Period. He conducted interview among
those who got a failing grade and found out that they
have difficulty in understanding the lesson because of the
fast pacing of the lesson delivery.

found out that the lowest scored competency is on
solving math problems.

50% of his pupils got a failing grade at the end of the
Third Grading Period. The Principal was alarmed at the
results, thus he visited the school and conducted class
observation. As the Principal entered the classroom, he
saw one student copying the lesson from the book while
Mr. Lopez is writing something at the back.

the test results of his Grade 3 pupils in Math, more than
50% of his pupils got a failing grade at the end of the
Third Grading Period. Based on his records, most of his
pupils who got failing grades are those residing at the
farthest barangay from the school.

Third Grading Period. After his conversation with his
Principal and the Parents of his pupils, he found out that
most of his pupils cannot understand his local
language/dialect in discussing the lesson.
