1. What is the Vision of the Philippine Stock Exchange? Do you think it is realistic?
Explain.

A premiere exchange with world-class standards for trading securities and raising
capital that serves as a strong engine for robust economy. I think it’s not realistic
because of the term used “robust” because it means that the economy will operate
without any failure, look whats happening in our economy nowadays is it operating
well? I guess not.

2. Why do individuals or companies buy stocks?

Individuals/companies are buying stocks for profit. A person is looking for value on
his money. They will gain interest income by depositing it in a bank. Or they can
search around for companies selling stocks to the public. If the company is
successful, it will make dividends.

3. If you were an investor, would you buy government securities? Justify.

I guess yes, Government securities are unconditional obligations of the Republic of


the Philippines. It is backed by the full taxing power of the national government.
Government securities are practically free from default. It is a low-risk, reduced
capital securities that may be appealing to more cautious investors or those seeking
tax breaks are government securities.
