MECHANICAL PROPERTIES AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

Gypsum is appropriate for every light and dry construction method for walls, ceilings,
and partitions.It's nonflammable, excellent Insulation, Sound Absorption interior material. It's
good for the creation of beautiful & pleasant space.

1.Nonflammable

Gypsum is originally nonflammable. In case when it is exposed to fire, water

molecules which are combined on the crystalloid chemically prevent fire spread and
temperature increase and expansion of flame to nearby structures. It has fire resistance and
flame retardant, which are required by architecture law. The fire resistance structure made of
gypsum boards for the bearing walls, the nonbearing walls, roofs, and floors composited
gypsum has 2 hours of fire resistance in case of KS standard fire testing.

2. Eco-Friendly

Gypsum is an eco-friendly product in which recyclable FGD (flue-gas

desulfurization) is used. It acquired a certification of eco-friendly products for valid resource
recycling, reduction of toxic substances, insulation and sound absorption as finishing material
of walls and ceilings.

3.Sound Absorption

Gypsum is insulates sounds and blocks crashing sounds compared to its weight and
size.It can be used for boundary walls between households and walls which requires noise
prevention to create pleasant interior environments. This complies with the national
regulations of sound insulation.

4.Water Control Stability / Dimensional Stability

Gypsum itself has stable crystalloid, so it is stable for changes of moisture and
temperature. After construction, there is no deformation such as twisting, deflection and
crack.

5.Flexible

Unlike other materials, its specific gravity is light and it is easily cut. This can be
easily installed in STUD Method, Gypsum bond method, partition system and ceiling system,
 It is also possible to decorate it in diverse ways with wallpapers and paints. Many decorations
can be repeated during the service life of a building. Unlike the wet construction method,
curing is not required so construction can be completed in time without any delay in the
winter.

6.Lightweight

Gypsum system is much lighter than masonry walls, concrete walls, ALC, and
lightweight concrete panels with the same weight. Therefore, it is possible to reduce
transporation expenses and to reduce roof thickness and column size.

7. Durability

Finishing with double-layered fire resistant gypsum board realizes excellent

durability.

It can be used safely for crowded places, children zones, and other areas where shocks may
occur.

8. Diversity

This can be used for multipurpose walls such as general dividers, hallway walls,
boundary walls between households, shaft division, outer walls, fire area walls. As for
building purposes, this can be applied to new construction or renovation of all buildings such
as offices, hospitals, hotels, dormitories, and apartment buildings.It is also possible to
jointless walls, ceilings, and curved walls.

CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

Gypsum board is made of gypsum mineral . Chemical Properties of mineral gypsum

was known as Spear Stone in old English since it takes a crystal-like form, projecting out of a
rock like a spear.The crystal system is called monoclinic.The chemical classification of
gypsum is sulfate. You can mill mix gypsum with water to get its original rock-like shape,
and it can be hardened.The diagnostic properties are cleavage , specific gravity and low
hardness. Gypsum is made up of oxygen, calcium, sulfur, and water, and its chemical formula
is CaSO 4 ·2H 2 O. Gypsum beds were formed due to the evaporation of water from the
massive prehistoric sea basins.
